Great post! :hehe:
I am down with the Beer Expedition. I didn't know you home brewed... Reminds me of a time that a very good friend and myself backpacked the spine of the Chiricahuas. On the way out we hoofed it down to one of our favorite springs along the route, and packed out...
:jumping: Right on!
Yea, that is the mic I was talking about. It looks like the cooling fins on that radio are on the top (mine are on the bottom), so keep that in mind when you determine mounting location.
This thread has definitely served up some brews that I must seek out and try. Especially the ones that might require me to stand atop Victoria Falls whilst sampling it, or some other such quest.
Oh man, it is tough to pick a favorite. I have many. Off of the top of my head...
Barney Flats...
I don't know if you have thought about where you will put it yet, but since you have a Tacoma like mine, here is food for thought:

Having it on the bottom of the stack like that allows plenty of air to pass over the cooling fins. Another...
Mark, that is a great price. Also, make sure that comes with the DTMF mic (the one with the keypad). I'm pretty sure all the USA units are sold like that, but just check to make sure.
The Larsen NMO looks good to me. Are you going to roof mount or hood mount? (or rear mount - like your CB)?
Very cool! Nice pics McVick. I love the one with the bear tracks.
I think Aaron was wise - 3 feet of water is not to be taken lightly. Here is a little video of a samurai crossing the verde near that area (lucky for him he had a strap pulling him)
YEA!!! One of my favorites too. I have done a thru-hike in July and it wasn't bad at all.
Glad to see you were out there enjoying it!!
Those are great pics - that slide photo is a good one :jump:
I believe that Uwe has the 2800M. Uwe?
I have the little brother (2600M) to that one and I dig it. Glad to hear you plan to get a radio! If you check the http://www.arrl.org/ site, you'll see that every so often they have the exams at Rimrock and Prescott. Next one is in Rimrock on Sep 08...
Mark, this would have been a perfect trip for you and the SuperCool chick. I wish you had gone with us.
To answer some of your questions:
1. The tally hasn't been verified yet, but I believe it was 10.5 miles total.
2. We never did come across any other hikers (except team #2 that came in to...
WHOA - help Scott! I just tried to write a reply to Chris' post and I didn't realize it logged me in AS A MODERATOR, which I didn't know I was ! - and I erased and edited his post instead of replying to it! SORRY CHRIS!!! I can't restore it, either!!
Scott! Helppppp!!!
Roseann
10-4 on the solenoids, switches and regulator.
Composite project - now that sounds fun. I would really enjoy trying that sometime. I have had ideas about custom panels and pods that would improve the layout. I'll be iterested to see what you come up with if you decide to do it.
Man, that is a lot of stuff in a short time. I am having ExWest taco flashbacks... LOL. It looks great. I see you got the color unit - Lucky dog! So what will you do for tunes? (no tunes?) Where do you plan to put press. regulator and solenoids for the lockers?
:lurk:
To quote from SeldomSeen's previous post:
"Another problem is (and I didn't mention it before, because it deserves special attention) the 2001 rule prohibits RECONSTRUCTION of existing roads within IRAs !! The rule does allow exceptions to the prohibition of reconstruction for the same...
