Here are some panorama shots:
!st pic - Friday evening as the storm passed
2nd pic - Pano from the 1st hike on Saturday. Uwe is surveying the spectacular view after we had ascended rocks, ridges, chutes and gullies to get above Secret Pass canyon. Behind him is generally southwest. Barely...
OK, here are a few more photos...
Brian coming into a cool little "room" we found below a dry waterfall
Sharon playing on the wall of said waterfall
Another view from our second hike on Saturday - looking from a side canyon down into the main Secret Pass canyon. Uwe and I got close...
Michael, congrats on the new rig! Glad to see you are gettin' down to bidness already... :D
Yep - Sharon spotted one in Kingman on the way to Secret Pass this weekend... they are beginning to propagate. Like rabbits I say. :)
Allen, you are very close to being accurate with your predictions! Datrupr in his Trooper and Sharon and I in the Bajataco machine were the only vehicles approaching from the AZ side around 4:00 in the afternoon. We knew we might get some weather, but it was beautiful when we made our approach...
OK, we'll plan on meeting up. I just talked to mcvick on the phone and his sched. is a bit tenative too. Let's just plan on the three of us keeping in touch by phone in the morning before 10:30 or so, and we'll hammer out the details once we all know when we can actually leave.
I think it would be a good idea, since none of us have ever been there before. If you guys prefer to head into the area earlier or later though, that's fine. Just let me know. Sharon and I may actually be able to get there earlier if you guys care to do that.
Uwe, I am looking at some info right now regarding your route in from the west. I'll give you a call on the phone shortly.
Length of hike - whatever we feel like. I too am looking at the topos for some more ideas, but my primary goal is to hike in Secret pass canyon first, then maybe do some...
LOL... good guess! :)
Scott and I picked up our copies last night. We actually got a nice mention in the article - all 4 guys from our team including Uwe (whitethaiger) and Greg (viatierra). Woohoo!!
Thanks to Michael Green and Fred Cone for the words and images.
I haven't read Graham's...
Aaron, if you already have the wood, then go ahead and bring a little. If you have to buy it, don't bother. Between Uwe and I we can bring enough for 2 nights.
Brian, I haven't had time to hunt down any coords yet, but I do have some from the Wells book, and I am going to try and actually make...
