Thanks for the reminder! I need to go pick mine up. I sent Scott a link to the preview of the issue from the LRM website last month, and noted that it looked like the Taco presence may have persisted to make it into the pages of this mag... but the little thumbnail was so fuzzy it was hard to...
Well, this is kind of shaping up like the Black Mtn trek as far as attendance goes. :p Our buddy Jack will not make it, so the crew is down to 4 vehicles, with a total of 6 people and 2 dogs. Now I bet our chances of seeing some bighorns are really good.
If anyone else cares to join us, there...
Ok Aaron, sounds good.
Weather outlook:
The forecast as of Wed morning anticipates a 30% chance of rain on Friday, and cooler temps over the weekend with daytime highs in the mid 70's and overnight temps dipping into the high 40's. Partly cloudy on Sat. and Sun. which sounds just about perfect!
Oh man, and with the bikes... !! How could you be any more happy? :luxhello: Very cool pics. "Two peas in a pod" if there ever was.
You are very welcome! Good luck on your quest, and don't hesitate to bounce around ideas here.
Very nice looking sliders. Angling the outer bar up a little higher will help improve clearance along the outboard edge of the path of the tires. This means the edges of your tires have a better chance to be a little closer to the ground (less articulation required) while the sliders are sliding...
OK, sounds good. We'll keep our fingers crossed for Climb n' Crawl. Just an FYI - if interaction with other dogs is a consideration, Brian will be bringing Oliver along.
Good call on the comms. gear. As far as fuel goes, there is no need to bring extra fuel. You can fill up in Laughlin...
Doug, this is a really fun project that you are undertaking, and I'm sure you have had such a good response here because this is exactly the kind of thing that we all love to discuss. I think we are all excited for you and your wife to have another spectacular adventure. Good luck with jury duty...
Aaron, I'm not opposed to having a dog along on the trip. As I said, "well trained (i.e. well-behaved) and quiet" is all that I ask. It's totally up to you to make the call. ;)
Dang, that's a bummer. I was hoping to finally meet her. I wouldn't try to toughen her up if I were you. :p Regarding the dog... unless he is very well trained and quiet, I don't think this is a good trip for a dog - especially the way you described him on the other trip :p Don't get me wrong...
Man, that looks nice. If it was mounted in a location where it would get direct sunlight through windows, I know it would heat up pretty significantly here in AZ. Which is not a bad thing for wash water, but for drinking water it's not so desireable. The good thing about the carpeting is that it...
P, yours is a lightweight!
I have been meaning to get mine weighed again. It previously came in at a little over 5,000 lbs. fully loaded for a trip. But since then I have added and reconfigured quite a few things.
Hey Monty, very cool to see you here at ExPo! Good luck with the GBES Rally :ylsmoke:
(I am the other taco dude that was with Scott at NVTR, and "WhiteThaiGer" here on the forum was the navigator in our truck.)
