I bought my GXV from this site. 6 figure purchase. All done over the phone and with direct messages on this site. It was a great experience. However I did not exchange any funds until I had traveled the 2800 miles to Texas and touched/drove/inspected the truck. it was exactly what was advertised...
I stuck with dual tires and i am glad i did. having 7 tires on board saved my butt once and gives me confidence while i am in the way out back. the toyos have been good to me and the goldcoins from china that i put up front in a pinch on trip have held up good. they are a very inexpensive...
a little jelly TBH. I just got back from our 22 day trip a month ago and I'm ready for another. 30 days of work and 30 days of play. seems fair to me! come check out the Owens Valley. HWY 6 from Utah to Bishop is an amazing ride.
glad to see the smoke has cleared out. we were headed that way last month and it was bad. wild horse hot springs in the middle of Montana is a good stop over. funky little place with great hot water and wild life viewing. has a little dry campground. You are 7+ tons. slow down and enjoy the...
we just got home from a 7 western state tour. 22 days and 4800 miles. if your in western ID check out Silver City. great dirt road, long climb, real need old town that's still inhabited and a little FS camp ground in the back of town with 4 or 5 sites. we where the only ones there. when you...
i run TOYOs 245/70-19.5. 110psi hwy 60-70 in the dirt. they work great in the snow. the duels just require a rock check after a run on a coble road. takes a few seconds to check while you air back up. tire chains are readily available and cables on the front. run singles chains on the rear and...
i have lived on the east side near Bishop for decades. in that time i have camped all over these mountains and have yet to experience an issue with bears. just follow the basic bear safety rules.
keep your site clean.
hang coolers at night if you must.
wipe down your fridge.
bears hunt with...
save your money. drive it where you want till you have an issue. solve that issue. we run stock F150s all over the dirt and snow. other then tire upgrades we leave them stock. amazing what we do with them and never have issues. a lot of the after market stuff is just fluff. my $.02
i just did a flat black vinyl wrap on the bottom of my doors to tie the color all in and protect the rocker/bottom of the door. looks nice and is cheep to replace. so far it has held up amazing.
So nice, you are going to want some real good front mud flaps. you will be amazed at how much damage the rocks are going to do to the front face of that amazing habitat. I know I was. they dont look good but neither do rock pits and sand blasted fiberglass.
