you definetly need to regear. depending on your engine size ,tranny, and supercharged or not 4.88's or 5.29. your killing your trans or clutch with those tires
shouldve used mdf. cleaner looking and easy to work with. its what i used for my console and worked great. im not done yet though haha and i did the same thing as u exept for steel i used brushed alluminum
dont drive on the coil like that any more cause it will most likely shift around and has a good chance of bending the shocks shaft of putting a good scratch in it that will cause a leak.
i thought my canopy would leak from it smashing the rubber seal on the canopy, but it didnt and ive been in some nasty *** downpours. i only needed to hoops over the canopy, but u could use more if needed its just my rack is heavy duty enough to not need more than the two. i used 2X1...
the idea of putting flat steel under the top would work. i did just that with angle iron that ran full length of the bed of my tacoma and welded pads that stuck out past the edge of the bed, and build two hoops over the canopy that the roofrack mounts to. i made pads on the rack and drilled...
4 ply is stock and will be fine unless your in rocks and are running on the sidewall alot. also 4 ply will probably get a bit better mpg due to wieght unless they are more aggressive.
saw an earthromer on a ford superduy 2 days ago(i think) northbound on I5 going thu corning california. my first sighting or an earthromer and i thought it was the coolest thing ever. i was excited and mu girlfriend thought i was nuts for freaking out about it. oh it had oregon plates
basically i want to copy defenders design, but as 1 or 2 peices of tube long ways down the floor of the rack. and ill be using hrew tube. im just getting into playing with metal, ive been a hardcore woodshop guy, but that doesnt come in as handy in the 4 wheeling world as metal fab does. i am...
any idea how much deflection a .090 1inch tube thats 4 feet long would have. and im going to drill straight into the canopy right where the top meets the side, because thats the strongest section, and i plan 3 mounts per side and one in the front and one in the back centers.
ok im going to weld up a roof rack to go ontop my canopy. question is will 1 inch .090wall round tube strong enough to hold me and my girlfriend(combined weight about 275)? it will have plenty of slats or tube(whatever you want to call em) for the base/floor, but im not real sure if i will be ok...
alright thanks guys thats what i was thinking. but does anyone velcro or somehow attach a toiel or anything over the windoes to absorb the moisture any.
when i go camping me and my girlfriend always sleep in the back of my truck on the really cold nights. moisture always builds up on the windows. what do you guys to to help prevent this. it gets old when you roll over and are up a 15 degree wet window.
thats just what i was looking for thank you very much. i wasnt really worried about the mounts cause im going to build those and will make them plenty strong. i was just worried about the structure of the fiberglass. thanks again to everyone
