Automatic or Manual Transmission for Expedition Use?

I have driven and owned both they are great drive trains. The auto with a 1HDT is my all time favorite 80 series drive train. The manual will give you better control of your EGT's in the mountains and can be push started if needed. With that said with a good history and low miles Im taking the...

A constant voltage converter and a smart charger together on the same battery circuit

Check out Victron one of the only chargers I found that can be used as a stand alone power supply or do both. Another feature is when your battery/ies are 100% full it does keep float going.

Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

You are correct on price. You can preorder a GFC SuperLite RTT now, with first orders expected to be fulfilled in November. The tent will set you back $1,199, but that doesn’t include the cost of the ladder ($100) or optional mattress ($279). All in, the SuperLite RTT will cost $1,578. I...

Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

The OP owned a Turtleback trailer that tells me that quality is super important and cost of a higher quality TerraPod may be totally acceptable. I look forward to the OP input. Math?? tent 1299.oo ladder 100.oo mattress 279.oo 1678.00 ;) Which is still $1200 more than the Terrapod ...

Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

Just a higher quality option for the OP. For the record, I have nothing to do with TerraPod. I dont own one or ever plan on purchasing one. Lets be fair and get the facts correct Add in the ladder and bedding on the gfc and now weight is within 10lbs to the TerraPod Dont overlook the gfc is...

    Wedge camper ventilation while closed?

I dont have a Vagabond but I do have an aluminum poptop and live in the Phoenix area amd understand your pain. Bus Kote is a game-changer, after sitting outside all day you can lay the side of your face on the top at noon. A fan will not do much good without supply air.
