I'm not bringing it to Moab at Xmas, but if you guys ever want to take a trip to SoCal......JT, Anza, Death Valley, Mojave......you're welcome to borrow it Bret. That might just make Mo see the light....:Wow1:
I had an FJ for 3 years and loved it, especially off road. The Wife however hated driving it (lack of visibility out the back) and my Daughter (9 years old) felt like she was in a cave sitting in the back, especially on long journeys. We're now in a DC Tacoma and honestly IMHO it's a much more...
We have a large Overland RTT and the build quality is excellent....not inexpensive though. (The marketing shows 2 adults and 2 children but it's honestly just the right size for 2 adults and one kid IMO). I am just about to add an awning and side walls so my daughter and her girlfriends can...
FJ looking awesome Bret! Check out http://www.utahsportcycle.com/ (Richochet) out of Utah for colored aluminum front skids and control arm plates. I went for red and they're light, beefy and look really cool....
Regarding pin striping, with care you can definitely avoid body scratches. To be honest, we have so many scratches from the desert on our 2010 Taco I don't think we're very careful anymore.
Day 2 was a mellow trip on the Titus Canyon Trail. Didn't really need 4x4 (certainly not 4 low) but...
The newborn day lies dozing, barely awake and utterly silent. We gratefully sip our freshly-brewed Pete’s coffee and pull our beanies down a little tighter against the morning desert chill. Death Valley, the name bounces around in my head and the usual battle between the desire for adventure and...
We did a quick trip up Black Mountain Road just north of Idyllwild last weekend. Super easy trail, but really worth it as it has awesome views from the fire tower at the top (7772ft). Cool camping at the top too.
Length: 11 miles
Trail Rating: Green Circle Easiest
Street legal vehicles ONLY...
Thanks for all the input everyone. Seems like we're all mostly doing the same things to protect our gear and I have some good extra ideas now. Agreed that maybe there's no real issue as you don't hear about trailers going missing. Also agreed, that ultimately it's all just stuff that can be...
Hey Everyone,
I primitive camp a lot in the Southern Californian deserts and mountains and usually set up a base camp and then explore all day returning at night. I lock down the trailer latches, put a steel cable through the wheels and remove the multi-axis coupler, however every time I return...
I'd like some input/advice on the rear suspension of my 2010 Tacoma DC. When driving slowly over bumpy but relatively mild trails, I often hear a thud that seems like the rear is bottoming out against the factory bump stops. I have OME standard set up shocks with an All Pro add a leaf. The...
