All-Pro in Idyllwild, CA - Snow Run!

We decided to take a last minute trip up to Idyllwild and run an old county road up to "Pine Cove" Trail. It had just snowed a few days before and there was plenty of fun to be had!

Enjoy the pics!

Wow--it's great to see the latest, red, All-pro creations. I had lost track since the Bundrant '85 red Runner.

I love my All-Pro front bumper, btw. :sombrero:

Nice pics, I used to live in Idyllwild and still miss that area (especially the fun drive through the twisties 2x every day :smiley_drive:). Is that "Old Control Road" or the other one off of Bee Canyon? I remember trying to figure a way to get the transfer case out of an abandoned 1st gen 4runner that went over the side ages ago - I bet it's still there (precarious spot and removal would have been difficult).

Hey! You guys were right on my block! I live on the dirt portion of Pine Cove Road....at Mcgovern. Did you guys come up PC Road to 243?
We got tons of snow but it kept most of the 4x4's away.

any idea if all pro is gonna make the bed rack for the long box trucks?

We are! It should only be about another month before we will start fabbing them for LB's!

Location of "Control Road?"

I'm now a part-timer in Idyllwild and really love the photos of your snow run. Where does this "control road" start and stop? I'd love to take my Explorer out on it before the snows arrive and then again once after they do.

Cheers,

Nice photos, Andyroo. It looks like a great place to visit.

We did Dark Canyon (4S02), which has to be even easier since it is almost all paved. It wasn't for the 4x4 challenge, but for my wife's benefit. Locals told us that's where you find the Dogwood and Redbud trees, which she is really into. We met a few cars on the road, but beyond Dark Canyon itself (Azalea Trail?) it was deserted.

By the way, nice camp trailer in your album. I hope to build one similar to it, maybe based on the military M416 or similar?

Cheers,
