My new vehicle: 2005 Nissan Frontier

The ambasador has a new ride!! :clapsmile This is super exciting! I am really hoping you will take me for a ride in it as I haven't had the pleasure of doing the "bumpies" in a new Nissan yet. So I am stoked to crawl all over it and check it out and go for a ride if you don't mind...

    Bajataco's Baja trip report - Dec. 05

Thanks everyone! :o All of you who have commented in this thread, but weren't with us, I really wish we could have met you down in Baja too. Brittan, we will just have to make a point of kidnapping you this year and taking you on a "forced" drive in 4WD with us, somewhere really cool. :p...

    Bajataco's Baja trip report - Dec. 05

Thanks guys :) Liver?? Oh man... I guess I over-emphasize my appeciation for good beers and tequilas a little bit, but I consider them a fun part of a trip too (at camp, not on the trail). I try to keep the consumption moderate though. Hopefully my liver sees it that way too :p

    Bajataco's Baja trip report - Dec. 05

LOL! :xxrotflma Damn, I went back and looked at the pic and you guys are right. That is a hammerhead. I am just a ************** sometimes :p I don't know if you guys have ever seen stingrays drying on a line, but they look similar and that is what I had stuck in my head when I said "stingray...

:xxrotflma Thanks Aaron :ylsmoke: Yea, the stingray shuffle... ...didn't work for ME! Oh well. It taught me respect anyway.

    Bajataco's Baja trip report - Dec. 05

Thanks guys! Cool pic chuck :ylsmoke: Actually - that is a stingray carcass. They have nasty little teeth, don't they? They also have a serious, venemous "blade" on their tail, which I have had the unfortunate experience of getting nailed by ... TWICE. Definitely one of the most painful, if...

    Bajataco's Baja trip report - Dec. 05

Thanks Chuck. Those hawks were sooo cool. I slowed the truck down, stopped and turned off the engine. They didn't fly away but you could tell they were a little nervous and were maybe contemplating it. I leaned to the window a bit and started making funny little "kissing" and soft squealing...

    Bajataco's Baja trip report - Dec. 05

Yes, yet another Baja trip thread. Man, that place is pretty popular these days! :D Sharon and I had a fun trip that was very loosely structured. About the only for-sure thing we made happen was meeting the Expeditions West group down in Bahia de Los Angeles for a couple nights of camping...

Cool to see our buddies rolling back in. Can't wait to hear the stories and see the pics! I second that. One of my absolute favorite camp spots is along that road.

    2007 Jeep Wrangler REVEALED (pics)

I too am hoping for a nice production diesel from Toyota by the time I am ready to retire my Tacoma. Back to the new Jeep, I haven't read all of the specs yet, but visually - I LIKE IT! It is the best looking body styling yet IMO. Very nice. I really like the grill design with the slight tilt...

    Drop in K&N

Yea, "probably not". That's me too. I keep using the genuine Toyota paper filters on mine. I don't feel comfortable with the K&N, based on much of the same or similar comments expressed herein. I have used K&N filters before, but decided not to with my Tacoma. Plus, I like to just drop a new...

    Sleeping Bags

As long as the heat is next to your body, does it matter if it is in the fibers of the bag or the fibers of your clothes? I am not disputing what you experienced, but I am wondering if there are different results for different people, much like there are huge swings in "tolerance" for different...

    Sleeping Bags

Those hand/feet warmers are awesome. On the body heat in the bag issue, I agree with Ross. While I am a pretty warm sleeper and usually don't sleep with much on when in the sleeping bag, my wife is another story. She refuses to lose her body heat when getting ready to crawl into the camper, so...

    FJ Cruiser

From what that build-site said, the automatics will have part-time 4wd with a front diff just like the Tacoma (I think ARB is already making/has made a locker for it? I know there is a front locker in the Maya Hunter 05 Taco). It says the manuals will have full-time 4wd - so no front locker, but...

    FJ Cruiser

If you haven't been to the FJ Cruiser section of Toyota.com lately, you should check it out. It has lots of new pics and vids of the FJ at SEMA, Big Bear CA, and the Rubicon. The videos are really cool. Also check out the "FJ Build" flash where you can do a build-out based on options - very...
