I can’t believe it’s been over a month since I posted. Lots of little things getting finished but mostly yard clean up and spring chores.
I got the cabinet covering the hot water tank install. This panel can screw off if you ever need in there but mostly it’s alway sealed. I decided to wall...
Nice work. I have the GM branded Espar heater on mine. No one on the internet has figured out how to make a buy pass to turn it on manually as it runs through the GM computer. I'm thinking of swapping my out for a used Mercedes one so I can control it myself.
Used expanded that has barriers on both side but if I were to do it again it would used extruded even though its more money. You can actually bolt stuff right against the extruded and it doesn't crush down. I had to added extruded to places I was bolting heavy things to the wall like my upper...
I think Victrons is a better product. I do not think it is so much of a better product that it justifies the price difference. Viltron doesn't make a DC-DC MPPT combination charger. You would have to buy the DC-DC charger and their MPPT charger Where the Renogy unit is self contained. There are...
I love the intercom Idea. The David Clarks will last you forever. I still have mine from almost 20 years ago and they are as good as new. I use Clarity Aloft now but if you want something light that won't break the bank account, I think you're out of luck.
If you are going to be adding solar, look into the Renogy dc-dc mppt charge controller. It will charge your starting batteries when your house batteries are full l
That’s coming up!
It was a beautiful day so I got the water system all tested out. Only one minor leak due to an o ring that fell out that I missed.
It’s not painted yet but I built a little section to block the winch cables and hide some stuff so I could create a little nightstand type nook...
Sorry for the lack of updates. I mostly have been tying up the never ending loose ends. The plumbing is 100% finished with the water pump wired up to the relay. I still need to add water to the tank and test it but since I’m on well water, I want to wait until I can get a better source.
I added...
This is what I ended up doing behind my fridge. It looks a little ghetto but basically the fan draws air out from the top and hopefully it will pull cool air into the bottom. Let thermodynamics give it a bit of a flow bottom to top to pull the heat out. The fan is on a switch. I might put it on...
My wife had knee surgery so I haven’t had too much time to do much but I got back at it today. I finally got the plumbing finished. This is one of those things that I didn’t have a fully formed plan in my head so I didn’t know how exactly it was going to turn out. I’m pretty happy with it over...
Have fun! Be patient! Looking forward to seeing your progress. I’m in a bit of a lull right now as my wife just had some knee surgery but I’m hoping to get back in the groove soon
OK, I started filming an instagram story that got a bit out of control so I made it into a youtube video. The quality is low but this gives a "quick" rundown of the project if anyone is interested.
Not much to report. Just all behind the scenes electrical. I didn’t like the switch that came with my winch to raise and lower the bed so I ordered a SPDT rocker switch and a winch relay I also ran a 6awg cable to the other side of the ambo that is powering my toilet vent, water pump, lights...
It's already looking cozy! That fire is going to be nice on particularly cold days. Do you have a plan to finish your doors? Or will you just leave them the sheet aluminum
Thanks, I have friends that due aerospace grade wiring on their projects. Maybe I'm just holding myself to their impossible bar lol.
And yes my aluminum skin was 1/8" how ever the skin on my roof raise extension is only 1/16"
Yeah my GMC 4500 ambulance is nicer to drive than my F150. It makes me hesitant to convert it to 4WD as it handles like it's 1/3 its size. I also really like the Duramax. I would have to admit that I am not a Ford guy. I was very excited to be able to find a GM.
