Scepter Water Jug - What am I Doing Wrong?

The simplest thing to to do is drill a hole in the top back of the can (essentially where your Igloo had the vent). The plastic wall is quite thick there. Use a 1/4 -20 tap to thread and screw in a stainless steel bolt. I did this to both of mine so I can use them on their sides, spout down...

Tire recommendation needed for ride quality and mild offroading

Absolutely LOVE Cooper AT3s. Had Duratracs on my Tacoma and while they were great off road, got pretty noisy after about 10,000 miles on the highway. The Coopers come in three flavors (basically size ranges and load rating). We put the AT34S on our basically stock 4runner, and they’ve been...

    2013 Tundra and 2013 FWC Hawk $45k-SOLD

How hard was the rear seat removal? I‘m thinking on it for my DC Tundra. Gotta bad back, so seems a bit challenging. Nicely set up rig. Seems like a good deal — surprised you haven’t gotten any responses. GLWS

'05 Tundra DC TurnKey Overlanding Rig - Vagabond Outdoors Reservation available

Smart move to keep it at this point. Perfectly built out for a Nomad shell already. Plus, I can tell you after giving up a fully built out Tacoma (finally just too small for our needs) and starting over with a new truck and Ovrlnd camper the supply chain issues and insane wait times along with...

'05 Tundra DC TurnKey Overlanding Rig - Vagabond Outdoors Reservation available

One of the nicer interior builds Ive seen with a topper. Curious about the ingenious water tank mount you fabbed. Hows that long rail of 8020 (is it 15 series?) holding up to the water weight? And how‘s the whole frame secured in the bed. Bolt throughs? Great job with the whole rig!

    Squarestream

So how are you filling up the cab mounted diesel tank for the heater? Do you remove it or fill in place? I've been thinking about one and managing the tank, fuel, spillage, oder, etc is the stumbling block for us. Just curious how its working for you and how you manage it.

    Four Wheel Camper ‘Project M’

So, the thing about dust is that all of our trucks have a lot of hidden holes that you have to obsessively search out. I was lucky that my Tundra did not come with a factory or dealer installed bed rail system. I put one in later, but I was able to see the 25 (!) or so holes that the bed rails...

    2014 Sierra 1500 OVRLND camper

Thanks, thats helpful to know. It’ll be interesting to see if you can figure the placement on the Planar or Dickinson. I’ve thought about both given the Wave limitations, but in my set up the placement seems really tough. The Wave will likely be just fine since we’re mostly gonna be in the SW...

Four Wheel Camper - Project M (F6) - 6.5 ft model for full size trucks

How do you like the the Seagull system. I used their First Need filters backpacking for years. Wondering how the Seagull works as part of a pump system. Also, is your 8020 15 series? looks beefy …

    2014 Sierra 1500 OVRLND camper

Question on your heater placement: do you find the fridge top getting warm/hot? I have a Wave 3 mounted similarly with my ARB 50 in the same place, but looks like maybe 3-4 inches closer to P side bed wall than yours. It clears the 4” distance Olympian specs, but just barely. Haven't actually...

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

Tundra also won the the 2021 IQS (Initial Quality Study) for 1/2 ton trucks that just released. Since I worked for JD Power for 10 years (not the auto division), I’ll say that you need to be sure which study you’re looking at. IQS is new vehicles in year of release, so cant judge long term...

    VHB questions

3M supplies VHB in really large wholesale rolls and a 35 yard roll. The 5 yard versions you see on Amazon have all been pulled off a large roll. Doesn’t mean they're bad necessarily. I have bought two 35 yard rolls so far. They are definitely 5952, but not marked on the rolls. The 35 yard...

    Finished a new drawer build...

Nice job! Are you using the top 8020 rails as your drawer slides? With bearings, or what?

I decided to build my own Pop Top camper

You did a really great job on that camper build! Ambitious project, but well executed. Question on your trip: I have some asthma issues and the smoke around the West has kept me home the last two months. How much smoke did you encounter, and how hard was it to dodge the fires and...

    Ovrlnd/FWC Worth it?

Exactly the issues that tortured me. The Tundra seats and seating position are WAAAY better than my Tacoma’s. The Tundra gained me 400Lbs of payload over my Tacomas yellow (reduced payload for options) door sticker. For a good year I was convinced I wanted a FWC slide-in camper on an F250. Even...

Is it a problem using only one side of solar “Y” connector?

Actually, they will be Anderson SB50 connectors. Thats what the Powerpack uses and my portable solar panel cable to the Powerpack has already has already been converted to match. I do have cover caps for them. They will be mounted inside the camper near the side hatches.

Is it a problem using only one side of solar “Y” connector?

Windoor = hatch. See avatar thumbnail. Thanks guys. Thats what I was hoping/thinking when I came up with my scheme.

Is it a problem using only one side of solar “Y” connector?

I have a 100 AH Battleborn LFP for my house battery in a National Luna portable power pack. The battery is charged through the packs DC/DC charger from my alternator. I hook a portable 100 W panel to top-off the system in camp when needed. My camper shell has two windoors, so currently I can run...

    Truck Camper Plug-In Structure Check

I’m no kind of engineer or camper builder, but FWIW your cantilever for the cab over looks to need more support. Here’s the only pic I have pre-insulation on my Ovrlnd camper. The edge of the bed is directly over the fulcrum point of the cabover. It’s 1/8 wall square tube. Don’t know what...

2nd Gen Dodge Ram 2500 5.9 Cummins / The “Puller” Project

Congratulations! Just PLEASE don't add to the crowds and the craziness out there by posting location specifics on little known spots. The world is full of nitwits, and it’s incredibly sad that they all flock to anything specific that’s been posted. Let them have the joy of doing their own...
