1975 VW Bus Westfalia, built for an Alaska to Argentina Journey

WOW, seeing that you could have bought any cookie cutter vehicle to make the trip but instead decided to make a vehicle to make the trip I am more than a little impressed. Looks VERY nice!!! Hope you keep this for many years as it is a work of art!

Who has the best set up for a bed?

I have the same mattress and LOVE it. Thought the cover was a joke till I got a patch of mold on it - bleached it, washed it and let it dry in the sun and it is still in good condition. The other thing that was a bonus was that it came rolled in a small roll and I could get it into my TCer...

Can you lift a Road trek?

One of the problems of the class B's are they are very low to the ground. Pulling into a parking lot will usually scrape the bottom. So even taking one on a gravel road will require some lift to save the valves and tanks.

Can you lift a Road trek?

I have heard and seen it done. Only issue I was told was brake lines had to be lengthened and more repairs on the ball joints. Here is one for sale locally that was done.

SOLD: 2007 Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with AT-Overland Habitat

Wow in very nice shape and well thought out. I can guarantee you that 99% of the people out there would not be able to get close to what is here. EVEN if they went to a supplier that had all the gear in one place and guided them by the hand to select it they would not get close to what is here...

Adventure Tool Company's (ATC) 4wd Provan Tiger adventures

I was at an RV show a couple weekends ago and saw some amazing double LED lights, from Atlas. They are very bright and looked nice. Was about triple as bright as the old RV light fixture with LED light bulbs. I went to a local RV supplier to order them and found even more light fixtures that...

    Miyata 1000 touring bike

This is not a for sale thread but rather a question about a sale. Some background, I bought my dream bike in 1985. It is a Miyata 1000 touring bike, and it is my baby. It has gone many places, slept in my bedroom when I was single and has been babied. My dream for 35 years was to ride across...

    Need opinions Lance/Northernlie/alaskan/Northstar??

From all that you say I would still point you towards a Northern Lite or a Bigfoot and I would go used. A couple things: 1 - Space: I have recently removed the table and the little riser that I built for under the table and store it at home when I am traveling. The extra space is amazing...

    RIP Big Blue

We had a lot of floods around here last year and I learned a lot about flood damaged vehicles, the good and the bad. Around here if a vehicle is in a flood and written off that is it, it is not able to be re registered. Once a write off always a write off in a flood. That being said many...

Looking for some brand recommendations for a slide in camper

I have an older Northern Lite and LOVE it. It comes in at 1500lbs dry, is warm in the winter and not bad in the summer (don't have air conditioning as it usually is not that hot around here). Would I do it again? You bet. Would I go for a newer model? I like the older one as I am not into...

C5500 TopKick 4x4 Crew Cab Build

There seems to be a city sprouting up there....... Why not do a nice line or two in black to break up the brown and leave it at that.

How Do you Secure Expensive Camera Gear in Your Car while Travelling?

Why not drill the holes through the floor, then get a piece of metal and drill through that. Then bolt is and sandwich the floor between the box and metal.

How Do you Secure Expensive Camera Gear in Your Car while Travelling?

I am wondering if there is a way to bolt it to the frame. I have a safe that I drilled through the bottom and lag bolted it to the floor. The building will fall down before this will come off. I think that cable locks can be cut. Only good thing is that not a lot of people walk around with...

How Do you Secure Expensive Camera Gear in Your Car while Travelling?

I think the weak point more than the cases will be the tie down to the vehicle. Most people will take the entire case and worry about opening later, they will look less like thieves if they are just walking down a street with a case, than with pockets stuffed with gear. If they cannot open it...

How Do you Secure Expensive Camera Gear in Your Car while Travelling?

As already said there is only so much that you can do. I carry a ton of gear (some days my entire studio plus an extra one or two) and all I do is try and pack so that things are not noticeable, I try not to show off the gear when shooting and if possible I try to leave my vehicle in public...
