I have more insight directly from Tepui.
First off, I would ask where Tepui explicitly states that you can stand or kneel on your tent? Neither are recommended simply because they are not designed to be platforms but rather tents to be slept in. It was expressed in the other thread as the...
My point in saying I don't think I'm biased is because on this specific issue we're talking about a feature of dozens of different brands of roof top tents. All of those brands would have this same thing happen under these circumstances. And all of those companies would say the same thing, it's...
That's where you're missing the mark. The tent handled as advertised just fine. People stand and walk on their tents all the time and it does not mean there's a defect in materials. If you got a chip in the paint on your van on your way home from buying it, would that mean the paint was...
I know there is no swaying you from your opinion, but the fact remains your issue is NOT a warranty issue. I wouldn't say I'm biased on this issue. All the other brands that compete with Tepui have the same construction and material and if it happened with one of those brands, the stance would...
There is no reason for the average forum user to be an "apologist" or whatever you may think for ANY advertising vendor. It would serve no purpose at all since there would be no benefit to the forum member. People stand up for products and companies that they trust. Consumers are harsh and if...
gseim, I understand your concerns. I responded in your other thread on the topic. Hopefully it sheds a little light onto the subject. I'm confident that you'll find that your tent is not, in fact, "junk" and will only last a season. There are thousands of users here on the board that are...
Tepui Ruggedized. :) Open roof, large annex, excellent quality and longevity, lower cost. Most importantly, excellent customer service before and after purchase.
The Siberian camo version is available for these right now. The other out of stock ones are expected around the end of the month or first part of July.
Yes the Kukenam XL is a 4-person, single ladder tent with a shorter span that the super large double ladder tents. The Autana XL would have the same 4-person sleeping area and also include the annex (which is huge) and could accommodate a growing family quite well.
Ruggedized...
I can tell you that my wife LOVES having the annex on our Autana! I sold my first Autana and got a Kukenam and she made me sell it after a few trips and go back to the Autana so we had the annex.
The main reasons is with the extended canopy and the annex, she can get up in the morning and climb...
Looks great! Yes, setup and take down times will get quicker with practice. Also, one little trick I learned when I had the Kukenam Sky...
You don't need to fully remove the rainfly to use the sky windows. I would just roll the rainfly to the center peak of the roof and put a bungee around it...
We still use the Tepui Autana but we've since upgraded to a Ruggedized model.
.
I've added a second tent the Kukenam XL (4-person) that is typically on my trailer. Now that my kids are a bit older (ages 9-16) the regular Autana wasn't enough. Our 4 kids sleep in the Kukenam XL and my wife and...
Two adults and two kids is pretty simple and there are several options. The 2-3 person Tepui Autana would work. It will comfortably sleep you and your wife in the top and a full size cot can fit on either side of the ladder inside the annex (which includes a floor). Room for the kids and...
Just want to give one more thing to consider. The extra large 2-ladder tents that some brands offer can have some long-term downsides. Besides the weight of a larger tent, the long length of the tent can become a problem. Tepui also briefly had this style of tent a few years back and decided...
The Autana XL will work fine on your trailer I think and would work best opening to the side. You are correct that the closed footprint of the tent is slightly bigger than the box of your trailer. It shouldn't cause any issues and width will be perfect. You'll get a bit of overhang at the...
I know it can be tricky to make a decision when you don't have a dealer close by to see them in person. Feel free to contact me and I can talk you through any of your questions and do my best to make up for not having one to check out in person. BTW, where are you located? Maybe I can find a...
