it is for all those reasons, I started to think back to a few of my favorite trucks.
The 1st gen tacoma and the few months that I did have the 1st gen tundra
Ha ha ha I know right, I might keep the PW and just get something else. If I went 2nd gen Tundra I would sell the PW and build up the tundra.
I am curious about those rangers as well.
The PW is a beast. When I test drove it, I knew it was big but you dont realize how big until you trying to...
I do own a T100, but it needs a full frame off restoration. That is above my mechanical skills. I have gotten 3 quotes now both are around 3 months and 14-16k. I bought it for 4k so, I would rather sell it or part it out and make my money back and call it a day.
You are right about the...
This is why I was thinking of the 2nd gen tundra. There is alot of aftermarket support. It is a big truck, but it is 11" shorter than the truck I drive now. It has alot of power and is really comfortable.
I have had a 1st gen tacoma in the past, I drove the hell out of thing. It seemed like it was indestructible. I was also in my early to late 20's, when I had the truck so it was just me.
I did own a 1st gen tundra for about 3months , it got stolen. I do remember liking it.
Currently I am...
Looking to build another truck.
I have narrowed it down to
1st gen tacoma
1st gen tundra
or 2nd gen tundra
The truck needs to be able to drive the hwy's all over the west comfortably with the wife , a 90lb dog and I. Then be able to run trails through the mts, desert, plains, forrest and...
I know the rust issues with Toyota, I have owned share of toyota's at this point have dealt with the rust. I have a beautiful T100 sitting on the farm in MT, that I am scarred to drive over a speed bump b/c the whole frame might turn to dust.
I had a 3rd gen toyota, honestly I just really...
This is great thread so far.
I did not know it at the time but I owned the holy grail of 1st gen's for about 3 months.
5-6 yrs ago, I was driving through cody wy, on my way to CA. I saw a 1st gen tundra at this random used car lot. I got a wild idea and gave it look. Well they offered me...
After being frustrated with a 3rd gen taco and now driving a 2016 power wagon. I have come the conclusion that the first gen tundra might be one of the best trucks.
Here is what I see, A true midsize truck that is more capable, comfortable and powerful than the modern tacoma. It is small...
there a quite a few gently used power wagons out there, I have been on the hunt. If you really interested, I can pass along a few links.
For me the PW or a tradesmen with the PW package (my preferred option) seems like the way to go. For low to mid 30's you can get into one that has been...
I have no relation to this post, but in my search I came across this truck and thought somebody might be interested.

I have not strayed from Cooper in the last 5 yrs. ( I guess since Cooper makes ******** Cepek, I am still not).
Tire Rack is running $150 off ******** Cepek. Thought maybe I would try something new. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with them yet...
I agree that toyota's are extremely reliable and known for lasting for ever, (as long as they dont rust out) but honestly what truck that is 20-30 yrs old and been heavily used and abused doesn't rust? I will say this, I have seen numerous fords and dodges run for 250k+ with basic maintenance...
I am looking at 16 tradesmen with the PW package and 30k miles. It has a really good price on it. As much (probably alittle less ) than I would pay for a tundra in the age and mile range
You must have a greats parts source here is my quote on those parts
front / rear/ gears- 3k
air compressor- 500
ome tundra kit- 1500 / icon kit-3000
bumper (choose your brand)- 1600-2k
warn 10k winch synthetic- 1300
17' wheels- 500-1200 (depends on brand )
5 tires (1500) installed
some of the...
