Pulled the side steps off to clean and repaint them. Doesn't look too bad without them.

Installed new hubs on each side and put the new lugnuts on.

Got new titanium lugs. Theyre shockingly light. No wonder rich people use it for their bike frames.

Went to work on the truck today and the lug nuts are absolutely wrecked so I ordered a new [aftermarket] set so when I remove the old ones I can just toss them into the garbage where they belong.

Can't say too much right now but I'm working with a fab shop to get bed stiffeners that work with my bed rack. Cad drawings are made, I have pictures of and it and when I get permission I'll share them.

This just got shipped in from Australia (just kidding). Brackets will be in tmrw. Should be good enough to go to a marine deep cell battery in the bed topped up for use with a broverland style fridge.

New sway bars installed. Passenger side was knackered. And new hubs arrived.

Oh no don't get it confused. I'm a slut for zip ties. I just want something more permanent.

They just went with zip ties, I'd want something just a wee bit stouter, but thats essentially what I'm thinking.

Wait until @Todd n Natalie and I release our OVERLAND FISHING ROD STORAGE BOX and then you can make that investment. But seriously, no need for a roof rack or a bed rack solely for the rods, like @YetiX said you can just angle them out the back window. I'm gonna go to Home Depot or something...

That's a lot more heavy duty looking than I want or need. Maybe some of their clamp style. https://yakima.com/products/reeldeal

My 8 footer is single piece. Which is funny because my lake rods are all 2 piece rods and they're 7'6" and shorter. My 10 Footer is a 2 piece, but for a short ride I didn't mind just leaving it be. Maybe you just found a niche for us to exploit. Just take a normal truck mount for rods and slap...

Yeah the back window opens but unless I set it where the poles sit on the center console it will hit the rack and the tent. It's not the end of the world. I'm thinking of ways to have a more solid mount. I may just mount pvc pipe to the rack and use some elastic to keep it tight.

I will look into it some more. Had I bought one earlier this year I'm sure I would have been just fine with it. I understand the KLR650s role as a starter bike that everyone seems to buy because of the price then realizes the short comings after a year or so. Yeah surf poles and even heavy one...

I don't blame ya, a thumper engine isn't the most comfortable or the most efficient (though it has good enough gas mileage). The other thing I didn't like is the gauge cluster still doesn't indicate what gear you're in. You'd think that would be baseline standard amentities. I have tried a few...
