DIY Expedition Camper on a 2020 Mitsubishi Fuso EarthCruiser CORE Chassis

Haha! Yeah, it does. If Mitsubishi had made the frame rails the same elevation across their length earlier, they likely would've had more success in the US market.

DIY Expedition Camper on a 2020 Mitsubishi Fuso EarthCruiser CORE Chassis

Fido! Awesome! I love Fido and your videos. Thank you for sharing those. We must meet and take a trip some day. It is a great "value", although the factory 4x4 is a way better value than this converted one, but the conversion does add some additional capabilities.

DIY Expedition Camper on a 2020 Mitsubishi Fuso EarthCruiser CORE Chassis

The title says EarthCruiser CORE, not that the DMV knows or cares. It's essentially a rebranded/final chassis build/conversion from Mit Fuso to EarthCruiser CORE, which along with a clerical error on the title by EarthCruiser has made the registration process multi-step. I don't think Chevy is...

DIY Expedition Camper on a 2020 Mitsubishi Fuso EarthCruiser CORE Chassis

You can reach out to EarthCruiser for updated and detailed pricing with options of their "CORE chassis"/4x4 conversion on an NPR or Fuso, but it's in the range of $125k-150k on a new chassis. Pretty darn expensive but does have a good set of components.

DIY Expedition Camper on a 2020 Mitsubishi Fuso EarthCruiser CORE Chassis

I finally pick up the new truck chassis about two months behind scheduled pick up and start preparing and planning the modifications to the truck chassis and point out some issues before I embark on this journey to build out an expedition camper on it. https://youtu.be/QRfwYIC-GlM

DIY Expedition Camper on a 2020 Mitsubishi Fuso EarthCruiser CORE Chassis

I searched long and wide over the last two years for a truck chassis to build an expedition camper onto, and settled on a new (2019/2020) Mitsubishi Fuso with an EarthCruiser CORE 4x4 conversion and in the process of building and installing the Total Composites camper box and full interior...

Switching from Ford E-Series to FC/cabover (like Sportsmobile to Earthcruiser 4x4)?

I have driven a new (2021) E450 converted to 4x4 with 35" tires, and it drove well, with excellent turning radius, albeit a little rough on the road even built out as a camper. Granted, the ride very much depends upon the 4x4 conversion parts and quality. I have also driven a new Mitsubishi Fuso...

Need Fiberglass Foam Core Panel Recommendation

How do you plan on covering the Coosa? Since it's a polyurethane, Coosa says it take PU-based paint very well, such as a bed-liner style paint.

Installing dual fuel fillers into one fuel tank

I appreciate the helpful suggestions. I think I have a simple, reliable and safe system that will of course work as intended with the factory system, and save me and others time at the filling station with less musical cars to get the pump at the matching side. I'll share more with my build...

Installing dual fuel fillers into one fuel tank

Yes, agree. I am purchasing two new identical fuel fillers--cap, fill and vent tubes--one for each side, each about 18" above the top of fuel tank. Each fuel filler and vent will Y/tee together at just above the top of tank, so any fuel in either should fall into the tank and not rise up to the...

Installing dual fuel fillers into one fuel tank

All good points. Thanks for those. The current fuel filler is at the very back of the 21 foot long rig, so finding a space that is 20+ feet long to back into or pull straight into with the fuel filler on the correct side will increase odds of an available fuel lane from 50% to 100% assuming...

Installing dual fuel fillers into one fuel tank

Very interesting solution. So long as the welds in the stainless Y pipe are liquid-tight to light pressure, should be fine.

Installing dual fuel fillers into one fuel tank

I am busy installing the items between the chassis rails of my new expedition truck/camper in the making, and I want to install two fuel fillers, one each side, so there is less vehicle shell game and waiting to get to an open pump when at filling stations. I want the two fillers and their vent...

Expedition Truck Mercedes Benz 1428AF - SOLD

While I have not driven this truck but have another just like it, and the owner can answer more, I can attest from having been inside the cab and camper, and next to it while it's running, it has quite an impressive sound, almost like a race truck. It's also very well put together, one of the...

Congrats to the buyer. In case you all want to know what it is like driving this, I posted another video of this Unimog yesterday after I was able to recover my other videos from driving it, and want to share the full driving and walk around video for any potential buyers and others. Hydraulic vertical lifting camper roof

FYI, The linear actuators in my lifting bed that support 1600 pounds (400 each) weigh about 5 pounds each, and only a small wire set to each, so very simple, light and easy to install, and only use a few amps @ 12vdc each. Also they are IP67 rated, so fully waterproof. No hydraulic pump, hoses...

    Hydraulic vertical lifting camper roof

I think 12vdc electric liner actuators would be far less costly, less complicated, less messy, less maintenance (none), cheaper, lighter, more reliable, quieter, and even much more energy efficient than a hydraulic system. I have seen many camper lifting roofs for expedition campers and the...

2006 Unimog U500 on BaT, Calif.

Thank you. I was set to buy it but chose not to as it had some minor repair items to resolve which led me thinking about who and where could complete the repairs. Plus, I found the U500 a little larger and slower for my preferences. One would think a Unimog would be a prefect trail, overlanding...
