I have been gradually getting parts for my 2007 LR3. Not intending to go major rock crawling, but rather properly setting up the rig for some off road family camping. Only thing remaining are some rack lights and a spare set of wheels for MTR's. :coffeedrink:
Parts so far:

Hey bud,
Not a bad suggestion. I understand where you are coming from with a self supported system. Early in the design process, I looked into that. the forward flip top would be ideal for that solution. With the side opening top, you must keep in mind that even when the rear trailer jacks...
Thank you very much. I appreciate it. We are still finding vendors for the various parts and systems. I am still hopeful this will go to production. If not, I will be building one in my garage.
I will send you some info as we get closer. Just finishing up the details at this point.

Hey Jess,
Thanks for the compliments. The software is a professional industrial design / CAD program called FormZ by AutoDesSys. I have been using it for years. It is primarily used for architectural renderings as well as industrial design.

Howdy folks...I am presently putting the website together and was goofing around with photoshop and my rendering software. Here is a teaser shot of a setup 4 person trailer.
More to come.
Hey Jack...thanks. I enjoyed it as well.
Thanks for the input regarding the trailer. I couldn't agree more about the tires. I prefer a skinnier tire as well. Makes a heck of a lot more sense.
Stay tuned. Much more to come as things start moving forward.

There has been much happening behind the scenes. My partner in crime is still on his Expo in the Northwest part of continent. We have brainstormed methods of fabrication, design styles, need, wants etc. Upon his return home, things will progress more quickly. In the...
Yes. The thought is, if the weather gets really bad you could close it up and have a solid structure to keep safe.
Once again, a big thank you to everyone for the feedback. I hope this comes together. I am getting anxious to get fabrication started. :coffeedrink:
I like the idea, but it will not work with the way it has been engineered. The composite panels are the key to this rig. I will keep that suggestion in my hip pocket thought.
That said, I am thinking that this trailer might be able to be purchased as a DIY kit to be assembled by the...
There has to be a limit with the trailer. Any trailer for that matter. While the larger diameter tires are nice for rigs, not so much for trailers. Axles take a beating and having that rotational mass on each independent trailing arms. Super larger tires on a trailer is not quite that...
Thanks bud. I used to live in St. Charles, MO myself not so long ago. Great town. Kinda miss it.
The tube is for the solar charging panel (more to come on that).
