1995 E350 Blowing Fusible Link, Vehicle Loses All Power

The fat cable should go straight to your battery or to your battery via your starter.

1995 E350 Blowing Fusible Link, Vehicle Loses All Power

E-Gremlins are a B***H! Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) you are going to have get good at reading electrical diagrams and tracing and isolating the circuits in your amby. I doubt that anyone here can remotely intuit where the short in your system is. If I was...

    The Ute II: E350 RB 7.3 ZF6

Got a few questions about the fuel tank to T-Case clearance so here is a pic to clear it up. In hindsight I think Chris's location for the cut would have probably worked. As you can see in the image I cut and capped the tank right at the edge of the recess for the strap. FWIW MIG worked fine.

Went with the Trucklite's. Definitely spendy but worth it to be able to see at night. The old halogens were really terrible...

    The Ute II: E350 RB 7.3 ZF6

My VSS is on the rear axle (Sterling). There is a VSS on the ZF6 but the wiring on my 1996 used the rear axle as well (not sure what year they changed it to the tranny). The signal is ~9% off (35" tires) and I plan on using Chris's signal correction box for this.

On the Road in Baja and Need Help

Oh man, bummer that you're running into problems that early, but better sooner than later... I just got back from 2 wks on the backroads of CR and can confirm that the roads will get worse. You can always bypass the gnarly rutted out dirt roads, but then you have to bypass the secluded beaches...

    The Ute II: E350 RB 7.3 ZF6

Thanks for the compliments! Funny thing is, I didn't plan to keep the same paint scheme as the the Ute I. Seems fitting now. I hear you. Jerry cans are also a messy PITA... The Aux tank is the way to go. A local wrecker has a pile of them, definitely leaning that way. Here is an image of a...

    MG Metalworks Van Build

Nice, I've wanted to run hard lines for ages because I hate the smell SS braided lines leave. I know the teflon braided lines aren't supposed to stink but they still seem to let the fumes out somewhere. That smell is my nemesis: track cars end up reeking, so tired of it! Grr... Good thinking...

Curious, are you going to run hard lines all the way from the tank or just on the motor?

    The Ute II: E350 RB 7.3 ZF6

Thanks for the comp's! So far boards and bikes are planned for the rear rack. I'm on fence w/r/t whether or not to carry Jerry cans or fit an auxiliary tank where the spare used to live. I like the lower CG of the aux tank but am feeling lazy...

    What series what to buy

IMHO there is a sweet spot in the mileage/age/number of previous owners balance. "The unicorn theory." I bought a single owner 1996 PSD with 60k miles like a 4 year old on his birthday knowing that seals were brittle and the eminent fuel pump and line replacements were a fraction of the cost of...
