Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

It’s not because there was a need for a product to exist at a point in time, that it means it is still needed today when other products are available and the conditions did change. There was a very clear need when it was released. Now, that need is less clear in my opinion for 2 reasons: -...

For your next rig: forget the high perf dish. The new flat dish performs well and can be permanently mounted and converted to 12v in 10 minutes thanks to a neat all in one box. It even includes quick release mount. Uses 50w instead of 150w and lets you turn off inverter to save even more power...

    Westfalia Wave

Price is out 156K and 10K for the pop up. Hard pass for a 2wd promaster. Would have been interesting if it was a Transit AWD.

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

I edited my post, modified LT to Supertramp, and ST to Storyteller. Chad. So with what you described, what would be the max charge rate? Can we get to 9000W? Since the batteries are a lot smaller (400ah at 12V, about 4800wh) I guess 5000W charging would be nice (30min to charge about half).

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

Yep, sorry about the LT and ST. ST meant StoryTeller, and LT meant the Supertramp Flagship LT. Now I see how it was confusing. Yeah, 250“ is what I would get because for us supercrew is a must because of the lower amount of cargo room in a Flagship. 18” is not nothing, and especially when in...

    Westfalia Wave

https://expeditionportal.com/westfalia-returns-to-the-us-with-the-wave-camper/ Westfalia is back in the U.S. with the wave and a Euro design. I think it’s great, and the power offering is decent at 600ah if the price is right. Expedition Portal says “price to hover around $100K” which would be...

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

Well I would want Supertramp to do it but they said they don’t want nor plan to change their power system. If I am gonna do all of this myself then I buy a box and do it, like the Tune. Like most people who read this thread I was initially interested in buying a built unit (supertramp or van)...

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

Haha, I can see you are both as surprised as I was. When I said game changer, I wasn't exaggerating. I confirm the battery charged at well over 9000W when driving. Of course it would vary depending on if we were cruising slow or accelerating, and start slower and also be slower after battery...

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

We rented the Transit Storyteller Overland. Time for an update. @ruadhrigh to answer your question, well a trailer is a massive PITA. You can’t park anywhere, it’s worst than anything offroad, etc. A pop top sprinter would work well but I have not seen a model that I like like the Storyteller...

Unicat Brilliant "smaller" for class 5 chassis (4x4 Dodge/GM/Ford-6x6 Gwagons/Toyota)

Right?! Haha. It‘s a lot worst than a rip off at this point. It’s a way for people with F-U money to say they bought the most expensive 12ft box on the planet, just because they can. It’s beyond ridiculous. Kudos to Unicat owners for exploiting this and make F-U money themselves. I am in the...

Unicat Brilliant "smaller" for class 5 chassis (4x4 Dodge/GM/Ford-6x6 Gwagons/Toyota)

Instead of speculating I ended up contacting them and they answered almost immediately. The price is about 1.2 Million depending on options. No surprise really when considering the price of their big trucks. Lol at the previous comments that made me hope for a reasonable price :). I still don’t...

Unicat Brilliant "smaller" for class 5 chassis (4x4 Dodge/GM/Ford-6x6 Gwagons/Toyota)

Why are people on this thread saying this will be at a lower price point than the competition? The Storyteller GVX is $450K with similar specs including a fully decked out RAM 5500 on liquid springs. Will this be significantly below? Their trucks sell for 700K to 1.5M so I am not sure to...

    2024 F150

8K off sounds great but my dealer can get me only $4K off, and he would do the same discount on a 2024 order

    2024 F150

Unfortunately neither the Tremor nor the 2024 Lariat can be had with the 2.7. Also impossible to find a 2.7 lariat 2023 in my area. They are all 3.5 or 3.5 hybrid. Loving the 2.7 on my Bronco. Currently deciding which camping rig but depending on that we could end up with a F-150 and I would...

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

Wait you got me interested. Will I get the same condensation issues on a Tune M1? If I was to go that route I would put insulation on all aluminum panels. Doesn’t make a difference? It seems no Tune M1 owner in the FB group is reporting any condensation. Vans are aluminum as well and nobody has...

Four Wheel Camper - A Review

What do you all think of all the upgrades they added recently? More storage, electric lift, better heating components and power. Seems like a good value for a fully loaded flatbed fullsize one.

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

We test drove 5 trucks and a Transit, see below the feedback. @Chadx @SimplyAnAdventure thanks for the MPG estimates. 10-20% worst than a gas van it seems. @sg1 Great feedback. Everything you say is pretty much how I envision it. I loved sitting in the Storyteller and watching out the big...

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

I will keep you posted. @SimplyAnAdventure the beast is a bad deal. You pay 40K over just for the offroad stuff. The consensus is to buy a lower model and just pay a shop to upgrade suspensions. Those 12kwh and 16kwh systems (over 1000ah) are impressive and it’s amazing not to need propane...

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

Thanks for your inputs. To sum up: - Solar, they are working on a package and last resort I could have it done separately or myself - problem kinda solved. - storage. Flat bed is a no go for me. It’s expensive, it adds a dozen of locks that need to be open, small storage box. I would rather...

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

It's amazing to read your post, since we share a lot of the exact same thoughts. In fact, I was just looking at the Storyteller Mode LT yesterday, and I was considering renting one next week to try. Just like you I don't want the Sprinter reliability / lack of support and would prefer a Transit...
