Thanks, looks like they have quite a range of outdoor clothing.

Off the Grid Surplus Trailblazers: Best Pants Ever?

I ordered a pair of the 5.0 pants based on the OP's review and was very disappointed. These pants are not for a serious outdoorsman, they're more about fashion than function. I guess OP doesn't use his gear very hard. I sent a detailed email critique to the company and received a very nice...

Giant Loop 5 gallon gas bag review

Wow, $300 for a 5 gallon bag? Yowza. Not compliant with CARB or federal laws requiring gas containers to be red, but if it works all is good.

I need some cheap recovery boards for snow and mud... Any suggestions?

IMO the X-Bulls are the best of the cheap ones. A buddy has a pair that we have used a number of times here in Northern Nevada. Worked well and did not break or crack When used in deep sand. To avoid wheelspin we always use 4-wheel low when getting unstuck, so never burned the nibs off. They...

Audi Q5 TDi - Adventure vehicle?

An Audi? Seriously? Just kidding, I've got a 2015 Q5 with the 2.0L gas engine and love it. I've taken it off road a few times and it's fine on dirt roads. I wouldn't take it on anything challenging, it's not made for that. Remember, it's a unibody crossover built on an A4 sedan platform...

About to buy a flatbed FWC Hawk/Norweld rig -- need advice on off-road capability? Concerned with height and rollover due to COG

My opinion is that you should avoid rolling over if at all possible. Not sure what opinions you were looking for beyond that. If you want factual information there are a number of websites and videos that explain how to determine COG and critical roll over angle. It’s a bit of a process that...

Noob Question - Pulling in Reverse?

Hope this question isn't too "noobish" or hasn't been beaten to death in another thread. I think I recall reading somewhere that if you need to extract a stuck vehicle, the extracting vehicle should not pull in reverse. Something to do with the way the teeth engage between the ring and pinion...

    Next truck

I‘ve got a 2012 GMC 2500HD, 6.0L, 3.73 and 33” tires and I’ve never seen 17mpg. Empty at 65-70mph I might get 14-15 on a good day. Most of the time I have a FWC Hawk in the bed and I consistently see 11 mpg.

    Thinking About an LR3

Thanks for all the thoughtful advice! Got to ask, what is a rod lift and why don’t I want one?

    Thinking About an LR3

We recently moved to northern Nevada and my wife decided she wanted a Jeep Wrangler. After driving a couple she decided they were too noisy, too rough and too primitive. Based on that I think an LR3 might be what we want/need. It would not be a daily driver, in fact it would be our fourth...

    Opinions on the Liberty

Clearly you didn’t read my post where I say we’ll get a Wrangler. And thank you so much for calling me a dickhead. You must be a real blast at parties.

You are very wise. We’ll get a Wrangler.

    Opinions on the Liberty

We’re moving to a more rural area and my wife wants a Jeep. She thinks she wants a Wrangler, but I’m trying to talk her into a second generation Liberty, the KK. I think that would be more suited to her planned use. What do you all think of the KK as a daily driver in northern Nevada, both...
