    New to me Dometic CFX95

My CFX65DZ (used only as a fridge) draws 10- 20Ah /24 hrs depending on external temps and number of times it gets opened and amount of liquid inside. Typical is around 12Ah per 24hrs in 75deg ambient days/ 60 deg nights. More liquid, more stable the temps are. I have a small USB variable speed...

    Colorado / Canyon bent frame

Understood - but Look how long that drawbar is...extension or not, that ball is long way from the hitch. Doesn't matter, the net effect is the ball/weight piint is much farther away from the hitch than normal. Looks like a locknroll or whatever hitch - it doesn't matter if it is that style or a...

This should be mandatory reading for anyone that off-roads with a trailer.

    Colorado / Canyon bent frame

The old trucks had stronger frames than today's trucks? Don't think so...not by a mile. About the only thing better about old trucks it their simplicity - and even then I can't fathom messing around with a carburetor again. The one ton (3500, f350, etc) from yesteryear can't hold a candle to...

    Colorado / Canyon bent frame

There is another photo that shows a long draw bar or extension. I did some math in another thread and it increased the torque on that hitch damn near 50%... Using a normal bar and 375# of ball weight, he should of had something around 300lbft on that hitch assembly. I guesstimated an 18"...

    Rubicon or Sahara

Low range on dry pavement is not a good idea...it'll damage the drivetrain. A short distance is fine, but the wheels need some slip to prevent binding. Towing with a 2 door vs 4 door - no direct experience, but a longer wheel base is always more comfortable. If you're traveling full time, a 4dr...

    Does a 12 x 15 tent Need a Camping AC?

If tent, then canvas all the way. Much cooler in the heat and breathes better. If humid and hot like Texas, FL or other crotchpot cooking places, and she's not a fan of being outside in midday, consider renting/using a small hard sided trailer with AC. My wife hates AC regardless of where we...

    Rubicon or Sahara

Hey OP, if you haven't already made your decision, post your question on a Jeep forum (Wranglerforum is a good one). You'll get better (and experienced based advice) there. Most of the comments regarding 4lo and JK Rubicons in this thread are not correct. The only difference between a 4Lo for a...

Thx for making my point. The OP posted about a JKU, not a TJ. Pretty different vehicles.

    Rubicon or Sahara

This thread has a lot of interesting comments in it....and it is always pretty easy to tell those that have direct experience vs those that don't. Here are some of the whoppers in this thread: Never go over 15mph in 4Lo with a JKRubi? Only use a JKRubi 4Lo if you need lockers? A rubi 4:1...

Dometix CFX 50W Normal or Problem?

I doubt your fluke is off unless it was damaged in someway. A group 35 is a 60ah battery - so figure on 30ah useable for Max life. Most Dometics pull 0.5-1ah on a nominal day with minimal open/close. The later the fridge, the greater the draw. I've modded mine a bit, so usually see 0.5ah on my...

    12v electrical system help

No worries. start with a better photo of your schematic and list the loads. there is enough wisdom here for some decent SWAG amounts that someone will propose a value.

    12v electrical system help

Is that 200A hardware limited by something like a series BMS? All batteries can produce tremendous short circuit current. Also, that 200A fuse isn't going to protect your 200A limited source. Fuses follow an i2t curve and which basically means little current, long trip times or lotta current...

    12v electrical system help

Try again with that photo and label/list your loads rather than expect someone to decode your circuit....you'll get better fidelity (answers). An MBRP fuse is just about the best fuse you can use for a battery feed. Skip the breaker unless you really need to disconnect the battery frequently.

FS: $240 Maxtrax Deal -DEAL GONE-

Got mine too...the box was marked orange. I thought that's awesome, actually the color I wanted. But alas, they were black. However I bought two pairs for a good deal, so I'm still happy.

Experiences with running fridge off main car battery overnight for a few nights in a row?

Yes. It varies based on last run time, current compressor temp, voltage, etc. I don't recall the value (did an office purge and all those notes went with it), but it is somewhere between 10-25A.... high enough to cause an UVLO. A decent meter with a min/max function will catch it. I also used a...

Experiences with running fridge off main car battery overnight for a few nights in a row?

All fridges draw a slug of current on startup...lots of little things can be the 'straw that broke the camels back' when your batt resting voltage is below 11V...I am referring to voltage drop across thin wires, poor connection, crappy goal zero internals etc ... All of the things that normally...

Optimate vs Redarc vs CTEK DC to DC chargers

There is a lot of internet mythology regarding AGMs and VRLA batteries. Auto mfrs have been putting AGMs and VRLA batteries in passenger compartments for years. My Sprinter has one beneath my feet. Any commmercial residential UPS whether it be an APC unit or Belkin, has both the VRLA, charger...
