I’d also suspect injectors aren’t at 100%... there are some additives that Claim to help. I’m newer to diesels and don’t want to be perceived as an expert.
@Abitibi recently swapped out some ‘03 injectors that were working well when he swapped in bigger ones. I don’t know if he has plans for...
30-60 minutes? Tell me you are joking.
If it’s below freezing I’ll idle for 30-60 seconds before moving. I then take it easy for 5-10 minutes... it’ll be a bit sluggish for a few minutes till the combustion chamber warms up.
More info re “is it loud”.
From the driver’s seat I cannot hear it over the heater fan on high. It’s on a par with fan set on 3/4.
With quite tires, I can hear it from the drivers seat at 35 mph and by 40 mph Zi can’t hear if it’s on.
1) I’d double check to see if all your tubes are 14” on Center. Gc
2) see how big the hole needs to beto the fan.
3) I’ve cut 1/2 way through the 2” box aluminum with an ultra thin cutting disc on the angle grinder to fit in my fridge... works very well.
4) my 11” Hayden fan moves 800 cfm...
The fuel pump is a much worse job. I even had its bolts out... then I threw in the towel because the turbo wasn’t cooperating with coming out.
While I was in there I found two exhaust manifold bolts that I had lost their heads. I suspect they had succumb to the rigid up pipes. For now I’ve left...
Win some and loose some... Score 1:1 :)
This is what sucks about E series...
I was chasing a small fuel leak. I was getting a drip every 30 seconds or so... had one person say don’t worry about it :( but no one would accept a gasser dripping fuel, so why should diesel be any different.
I...
Did you figure out the starting issue?
I don't know Wheeled Coach, but on my '97 E350 with a 7.3 there is a starter relay mounted to the fender behind the right headlight. The wire between that relay and the solenoid on the started was damaged on mine... I'm sure it was the source of some of...
I’ve had a lot of experience sewing heavy materials with industrial sewing machines. One thing is common about all sewing machines... oil is your friend. The machines I maintained for the college were fond of 20W50... but they were wartime Singers that have been abused and used for decades...
No. It’s fairly quiet. Not silent, but about what you can expect for a high cfm stand fan. Quiet enough to easily fall asleep near. I figure a small resistor to knock the voltage down a bit and it’ll knock the volume down a fair bit.
It’s a 12v radiator fan... quiet enough to be drowned out by...
Tested it out today. It cooled the box off quickly. It moves enough air to create a strong breeze out both front windows that we’re open about 1.5”... strong enough that it’s noticeable just standing near the front doors. I plan to use a spare ballast resistor to create a slower speed... and a...
I’m gonna give this 11” Hayden radiator fan a try for cooling. I figure if I extend the shroud, I can draw air in and force it out the cab windows if they’re open an inch or so.
The first is to show the relative size compared to the window. The second more like what’ it’ll look like installed...
I’ve run a hose from my rear axle housing into the passenger compartment of my Fj40. At first I did smell a bit of gear lube. After putting makings a crude filter in the end of the hose the smell soon went away. 20 years later I’ve never had any problems with it.
To do it over, I’d run it up to...
Sooooo.... as luck would have it, a Friend of a friend had some ‘97 7.3 parts up for sale. He wanted more cash than I wanted to part with, but did take a Stihl Chainsaw I had that I didn’t need and a little bit of Cash in Trade.
So now I’ve got a set of injectors and a HPOP from a 85k mile...
