5000 hours is nothing. I’ve got about 17,000 hours and it’s still going strong. A friend drove a tow truck that had been pinned at 99,999 hours for years and they still drove it like it was stolen.
Our black lab also loves our ‘97 Crestline. I’ve added a 12” 850 cfm Hayden rad fan into the side...
I was meaning more trucks with big heavy tires that may not balance super well... prone to causing problems on everything they’re mounted on.
I get heavy trucks... mine is 2WD & 9500 lbs empty. I’m over 10k most of the time... it handles extremely well with 880s and Bilstein shocks.
One of...
Those ERVs are a cool rig. Crestline New Era rigs are somewhat under 21’. Box is 148” long, 88” wide, and +/- 66” standing height. Mini-Mods are a touch smaller and regular Ambulances are bigger (96” wide and all).
I’d like to have a bit more height inside... but overall I’d not want to be...
I've always been impressed by his conversion kits. There have been a couple customers that have had issues with wobble with heavier tired rigs, but I'd still consider giving it a whirl if I wanted 4wd.
After 28 years, the 40 has seen far too much highway also. That said I've put 100k miles of the 230k+ miles on it. I bought it with 30k miles on the OD... which was at least 130k miles.... I don't think 230. It has taken me everywhere through everything... and still will.
Mine were aluminum 1/4-20 for the strikers. I replaced them with quality SS 1/4-20 rather than trying to source out aluminum bolts... as most broke when being removed.
Save your money... the COROTC ones have failed and I’m still trying to get replacements or my money back for them.
Try #2. Billet 6061 Aluminum. Much stronger design and able to fit up to 6 heavy cables on each terminal.
Twice the price, but batteries and tows aren’t cheap so...
Found the problem. Behind the passenger side headlight... hidden by the battery. Starter solenoid 1 of 2.
The corroded terminal had loosened off.
Symptoms:
House batteries getting 15.2-15.3 V
Starting batteries not charging
When I put a wrench on the second large terminal, the starter...
When installing them i should have wrapped the second terminal in plastic. Unlike normal cars, the terminals remain live because there are four batteries. Learn from my mistake and don’t repeat it.
problem has developed since the change. The stating batteries aren’t changing from the...
So it turns out these terminals are crap. I bought them off amazon a couple months back, and the first time I took the battery out and put it back in they snapped. I contacted amazon since they are under warranty and got an automated reply that they’re short staffed etc. So I don’t know if I’ll...
:D
I can’t remember who emailed me the wiring diagram anymore, but I’m glad it helped. Mine’s a ‘97... so I hope the 2001-04 diagram will be equally helpful for mine should I ever need it.
As you found, the wiring numbering doesn’t seem to have changed much... Thankfully
Expect spongy spots in the floor. The OEM foam under it also soaks up water like a sponge. I had to replace almost 1/2 of mine.
I glued down garage floor “checker plate” vinyl from Costco. It’s easy to clean and fairly cheap.
