I usually carry a couple long handled shovels in there for digging or filling in holes. Ya never know when & where you’ll need a good shovel.

Spray foam or rigid foam glued (silicon or PL) to the ceiling should eliminate any flexibility. Add something rigid to the bottom of the foam to take it to an even more rigid level.

From what I’ve read OEM glow plugs are the way to go, I got mine from DieselORings.com for about $7/each.
