avidtest, you and I think exactly alike and are in the exact same boat with respect to the trailer hunt. I have been researching and watching the market for several years now. I haven't quite been in a place to pull the trigger though so I have had time to obsess. I'm now getting closer to...
I suspect more than anything it comes down to proper installation of quality components. Proper wiring for the current and run length and appropriate fusing.

I received an interesting Kimberley Kampers Update email today. A lot of nice updates coming. One of the big ones that is interesting is they are moving to 48V power systems. I think it makes a ton of sense.

I hear you on the 191MSL and the cheaper price reset. If they made a 190MSL it would interest me that much more. I have kicked around the idea of just taking a 190MDB and removing the bunks and installing my own track system and bunks/shelves to basically create a 190MSL without the large side...
I got to see the X.9 while he was passing through town. It was a cool little design. I actually liked the use of the fold up bed with the dinette underneath. I think it would be a very nimble trailer too. Seemed pretty well made.

We are not talking about the MorRyde Air1 suspension. We are talking about the new MorRyde independent trailing arm air suspension that the Palomino Pause trailers are going to use. Best I can tell, it doesn't show up anywhere on MorRyde's website yet. You can see it in some of the videos out...
The MorRyde that Palomino Pause is using has 12 inches of travel. No idea on load capacity but from the weights I heard in some video about the estimated weight of the Pause suggests they should hold their own with the CM. The Pause sounded pretty heavy and they are testing that trailer and...
I know that the CM suspensions are proven but I wonder about the option of using either the Air Bag Man suspension that the Conquerors are using or that new Morryde system the Pause are using. If I am not mistaken, I think both have more travel than the CM ATX. No idea on load capacity but...
As far as not vibrating to pieces, it is not really the independent part of the suspension that is helping. It is a more active spring rate for the load instead of the typical short and stiff trailer leaf spring. Even more important is good compression and rebound dampening. A trailer that was...
This has been discussed elsewhere but I also wonder if the swaying has to do with trailer height and weight placement such as having water tanks aft of the axles. I would like to know what kind of real world, loaded to camp, hitch weights these end up with.

The Karavan is such a cool design to me. I'd love to see a US mfg attempt something similar. I have also always wondered how bad of an insulation impact the slide out beds have and could there be a reasonable way to make one better insulated than just some thin metal panels. That being said, if...
You are absolutely right. I believe most people's goal is a trailer that can regularly leave pavement and not self destruct. Not something they can rock crawl the Rubicon with. If it can routinely handle levels 1 and 2 as you described and manage carefully picking it's way through some rougher...
Another thing to keep in mind is that if your rig doesn't have the insulation properties to keep the heat out reasonably, running the AC on battery is a losing battle. Maybe nice to drop the cabin temp in the evening before bed or something I guess. Nice option to have but I can see why it isn't...
This is the kind of stuff that makes me think about buying a used unit at a deep discount, if that happens, then gut it and build to suit my OCD and desires.

$138k - $146k! Hahahahaha!
I'm not questioning Garmin's capabilities either. I'm questioning the need and desire to pay for it in an off-road trailer. Just what I need boondocking off-grid, my trailers entire functionality down to its suspension (air bag pressure) dependent on a tablet and...
Here is some direct feedback from HAT about some of the differences between the Roamer X and XT105:
"There are several differences. Length of the frame (Roamer X is longer), suspension system (Cruisemaster vs Timbren), heating system (Truma Combi vs Fogatti/Dometic), toilet system (Nature's...
