LR3 vs L322 range rover what would you look for when buying?

Maybe I’m the one that is confused. I thought the L332 was the full size Range Rover? It’s sometimes called the FFRR for “full fat Range Rover” because it’s the biggest one (Although the interior cargo space is less). The RR Sport and LR3 share the same chassis. Only the suspension tuning...

LR3 vs L322 range rover what would you look for when buying?

The L322 was designed under BMW ownership, the LR3 was designed under Ford/Jaguar ownership. Very different parts and suppliers for things, so I doubt there is much in common, if anything. Some of the parts on the LR3 actually had the Ford logo stamped on them. I wrote a blog post about buying...

Another dead alternator on my 1999 Monty

I was a member of the Alternator a Month club for quite a while. I think I went through 5 or 6 of them on my 2002 Montero. I ended up taking mine (a Bosch at the time, if memory serves) to a local shop to have it hand rebuilt, and that seemed to last several years until my daughter killed the...

    SEMA Show 2023

As an aside, I think the "Overland Outfitters Cutlery Keeper" is really cool, but would get very dusty stowed in the tailgate table here in the West. Do you have ways of hanging it for quick rigging that don't require screwing to the tailgate?

    SEMA Show 2023

Interesting story, love how things like this come to be. Looking forward to your future posts on what you find interesting. BTW, I am really intrigued and curious about this side mount trail table/kitchen set up. Looks really interesting! Edit: Seems like it would not be too hard to modify...

LR3 Air to Coil conversion.....one year later.

Well, I am not sure my experience will translate, but I was the original springer back in the day. I started with 40mm Peddars springs, from Australia, which had superb ride quality and spring rate, but I wanted something a bit taller, so I ended up with 65mm KingSprings, also out of Australia...

    LR3 Questions

So, two different issues, suitability for a 16 year old, and maintenance costs for a 180k mile LR3 1. Suitability: Outstanding. I sold my LR3 to a guy who continued to drive the crap out of it (lots of off-roading) and then ultimately passed it down to his daughter. She totaled it in a...

Radius Outfitters alternatives/soft side storage options

Have you tried Step22? Their "Stingray" Flat pack soft sided storage box is pretty similar to the Radius kit. Not quite as nice, but half the cost. https://step22gear.com/collections/all-adventure-travel-bags/products/stingray-flat-box At 1/4 the cost, FrontRunner has their FlatPack soft...

Help me find this USB Port - My Google-**** is Weak

Not quite, that only does power, and sockets into an existing cigarette lighter. What I am looking for replaces that port altogether, and can connect to my radio to transmit data as well as power.

Help me find this USB Port - My Google-**** is Weak

I am looking for a twin USB charging port that fits my cigarette lighter port in my 2014 Jeep JK dashboard. More specifically, I am looking for a Female to Female twin USB 3.0 port, that is all black. Preferably illuminated, but not required to be. Something like this, but dual USB, and black...

2014 JKUR - What is that Buzzing in the Dash?

I would LOVE a viable link to a service manual for my JK. I spent some time looking, and never found one that actually had available content.

Best $200 (or less) Tool Kit for College Student?

Actually no. Instead of the tool roll, we went with a large mouth soft sided tool bag, and a bunch of zippered canvas tool pouches. Then I went to Harbor Freight and Home Depot and loaded up on various tools and stuff everything into the tool bag. I love these cheap tool pouches

2014 JKUR - What is that Buzzing in the Dash?

Probably! A member of JKOwners forum pointed to this. I haven't taken my apart yet, but I'm sure 10 years of desert dust has played havoc with the little fan that is fitted to the cabin air sensor, which takes periodic readings.... A new one is about $70, but I might just be able to clean it...

    Overland-ish Base Camp Ground Tent

I personally have been using an REI Base Camp 6 man tent, as well as a scaled down 4 man person of that same Base Camp tent, for about a decade, maybe longer. I really like them. https://www.rei.com/product/136058/rei-co-op-base-camp-6-tent

    Overland-ish Base Camp Ground Tent

Never heard of them, but you will probably find a lot more info on the tent they cloned, called a ShiftPod. By all accounts, other than pricy, everyone seems to love their ShiftPods. Here is a video from Brad at TrailRecon: https://shiftpod.com/shiftpod/
