What happened to the JL/JLT thread?

Deleted by author? Deleted by mods? Seemed to be a well mannered thread with good discussion.

JKU hinge mount for Hi lift - who do we like? UPDATED

Not familiar with that particular bumper mount, but I don't like it from a liability perspective. It doesn't seem like a hard sell to say that a crude farm implement mounted to the front bumper caused more damage to an individual than would have been caused otherwise. While I'm not a physics...

LED Headlights - heated, or not...

Do you often find yourself cleaning your stock headlights of accumulated snow or ice in the winter? If so, I would go heated.

    THBLKPRL - 2012 JKUR - Build/Adventures/Musings

I have been slacking a bit on my own thread... my latest addition was about a month ago, and was a Warn Zeon 10S Platinum. Install was fairly smooth... although I don't think it is fair of anyone to say this winch "fits" without this minor point: You pretty well have to cut your grille. The...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Not "today", but last week-ish I added a Warn Zeon 10s Platinum to the Jeep. It was a VERY tight fit. I actually had to cut a slot in the grille for the wireless control pack, er, wires. Personally I think it looks great, keeping with the "OEM" style of my build. Nothing too flashy. It does...

AEV Lift kit issues? ANy help appreciated

I have had the same issue, and it was definitely steering wheel alignment. Personally, I'd do it yourself... it's two bolts, a bit of trial and error, and some elbow grease. It is simple. If you have an AEV pro-cal, its less work than taking the doors off. Edit: It sounds like you installed...

    Maxtrax mounting ideas on JKU

Following with interest. Roof rack isn't in the cards right now, and so far I've just tossed them in the trunk in the box. Not ideal. Strapped them to the spare a couple of times, but I have yet to figure out a method that leaves them easy and quick to access, yet securely mounted. Since I...

    3rd Gen 4Runner to JKUR

It has been said by many here, and I agree with all of them: If the Wrangler doesn't speak to your soul the first time you drive it, it will likely speak to you even less as time goes on. I would not buy a Wrangler gambling on a "not so sure", especially if you don't need its off road chops.

    THBLKPRL - 2012 JKUR - Build/Adventures/Musings

I was shocked at the substantial difference made by the cap when tuning, and never thought to remove it. I have some spare Plastidip laying around, so I may have to give that a shot. Its also worth noting that I did coil the excess cable under the dash, and was not aware that this could cause...

    THBLKPRL - 2012 JKUR - Build/Adventures/Musings

I've installed my CB and antenna mount as shown below. Sadly, I have only been able achieve a 1.8 swr using a 3' Firestik on an HD spring. I was hoping to at least crack 1.5. I did my own tuning, and this was my first time doing anything of the sort. If anyone has any suggestions, I would...

    2018 WRANGLER

One nice thing about Jeeps is that you usually have a 10 year span to move to the new Wrangler model if you like. If they are that good I may move over during the middle of the road refresh.

    Exploring topless

Not sure if you're considering a rack or not, but I do believe the Gobi racks allow soft top use relatively easily. My primary concern would be secure storage solutions.

    JKU Tire Opinions?

Have to agree. My Duratracs have had fantastic pavement manners, and rain/snow traction is spectacular. Sidewall is a valid concern, however. They also seem to be wearing even, and look like they will last 70k+. That being said, the siping does not extend through each lug entirely, and looks...
