New Expedition Camper - Overland Explorer

Updated progress photos. Showing the camper with the roof railing. Also the "outdoor" kitchen and the access where it stores in the camper.

New Expedition Camper - Overland Explorer

How many people have an outside temperature gauge in their camper, that can be read from the inside? Just thought of that and requested it. Seems like a handy thing to have.

Is this like the memory foam? I’m worried about it being hot. How big an issue is moisture?

New Expedition Camper - Overland Explorer

What are people using for beds, mattress, etc in their campers? I'm finding very little discussion about that. Other than memory foam is hot.

New Expedition Camper - Overland Explorer

Yes I would say the same. Just tucked in a bit. The fronts add 1.25" per side to width. The rear needs 2" per side in additional width. I think that means that the rear axle is 6.5" inches narrower than the front overall. I am not worried about the use of "hub centric" spacers. Still...

New Expedition Camper - Overland Explorer

Not the best picture quality but here are the Hutchinson's on the rear axle.

New Expedition Camper - Overland Explorer

I'll add a pic tomorrow. The issue is they are a bit to narrow or way to wide. 2”spacers and faced the same way as the front would work I think.

New Expedition Camper - Overland Explorer

We are hoping for an end of the month completion date. There may be delays which is not unexpected in this type of project. Overland Explorer, Mark, has done a good job of keeping me updated. Rickson has promised to ship my wheels this week. I hope......Not sure how I will like them. Lots...

New Expedition Camper - Overland Explorer

Area under the sink and stove is getting filled up with "ugly stuff". Glad we have a large full height cabinet on the opposite wall. Plenty of exterior lights are planned each with it's own switch.

New Expedition Camper - Overland Explorer

Some progress pics. Moving right along. We added extra cabinets along side the bed in the cab over. Mark recognized that this would be dead space and came up with a solution. Exactly what you expect from a one off custom builder.

New Expedition Camper - Overland Explorer

Stazworks required me to supply all dimensions, offsets etc. I looked at Buckstop, they make a nice all inclusive package; bumper, wheels, lift kit to fit the large 20” wheels and tires. Expensive and I prefer not to have a lift. Also their package requires a wider front and large...

New Expedition Camper - Overland Explorer

Update on wheels. Who would have thunk something as everyday common as wheels and tires would be so difficult. My local supplier mocked up a 19.5 wheel for me. Didn't work, it rubbed the brake rotors. Back to waiting on Rickson; they have promised a ship date of next week. I can't find...
