Words of advice: Before you start taking things apart, pull a tape and measure the length of your springs to make sure they are the same length as the ones on the FG. Don't ask me how I know this.

Great sticker! My truck is 2005 so pre DEF and most other pollution control complications. The flushing effect should be the main concern. I am going to wait until shortly before my next oil change and will run a few tanks of b20. I'll start with 1/2 tank if Dino diesel is the net is b10 and...
I change fuel filters every oil change regardless of fuel. That keeps the injectors happy. Bio cleans the sludge out of the tank so one filter after a few tanks of bio is the only one needed and the only one that is a result of the use of bio. The reason to do it is to tread lightly on our...
Has anybody run b20 biodiesel in their FG? If so, any ill effects? There is a station near me that sells it and it is about $0.10 to $0.20 / Gal cheaper than Dino-diesel. I used to run this in my F350 with a 7.3l Powerstroke and it ran fine. I got slightly less mileage and did a filter...
That would certainly work on my SWB FG with a little bit of tweaking of dimensions. My flatbed is 108" x 81" and optimum would be about 18" overhang off the back of the bed (my Hallmark Ute is about a foot longer than optimum). It's good to hear that you can adjust dimensions. Keep us...
Nice! That would work well on the back of a Fuso. How long is it overall and what are the footprint dimensions?
Wish I was on my way to expo this year to see this.

Now that's cool! I worked as a surveyor many moons ago and lugged an instrument over hill and dale. We really could have used this. I can think of a bunch of uses for this. Thanks for pointing this out.
Rerack is a shop that does just what you need and they helped me with a similar dilemma. They are in Portland, Oregon but ship product as well. Rerackpdx.com. Send your photos and they can probably send you what you need.
I took my years old collection of rack parts and told them what I...
Great first post!
In response to the wheelbase question: yes there where two wheel bases offered. As far as I know the wheel base and resulting overall length and turning radius is the only difference. Mine is a 2005 SWB and the only downside is available bed length. My camper is 14' long...
Time for an update! My retirement turned into more of a sabbatical as I went back to work shortly after OX13. New job involves a lot of travel...mostly in the US and mostly in an airplane. The Fuso has been feeling a bit neglected so I got back to work on it. I did some tidying up on the...
I just noticed this on eBay. It has to be one of the most unique Fusos that I have seen.

I suspect that engineers designing heavy truck frames face a geometry problem that was solved with frame flex. Look at the previously posted photos of my truck in the mogul field and imagine the amount of lift and suspension flex that would required to allow a rig with a completely rigid frame...
Interesting. There is a diagram in the Fuso Body Builders manual that has a cross hatched area around each cross member that is a no-load zone so I tried to avoid those zones for my spring brackets. I'll see if I can find that drawing and post it.

Not just you. I've scratched my head over that. My question and concern hasn't been over the bracket but over the frame. The bracket is over 2x the metal thickness as the frame. What is that doing to the frame? I would rather have some give in the bracket that have a hot spot in the frame...
More deflection photos
These photos mysteriously arrived by email today. Thanks Honey whoever you are!
This is a really interesting sequence from pretty much full deflection to flat.
How much deflection is too much??
Note the camper overhang to tunnel box relationship. It didn't...
Spare tire mount
The last thing I got done before heading to OX13 was the spare tire mount. I literally had to wait for the paint to dry to get it mounted so I could leave. Here is the finished product.
Cab tipped:
Cab Down
This is the only thing that is hard mounted to the frame. It...
Tunnel Box Dimension
There has been some comments about how close the camper overhang comes to the aluminum tunnel box behind the cab...
Here's how I figured that out:
Before I ordered the box I mocked up full deflection (with springs this time) and measured how much space I had. I allowed...
