I’ve got an E350 with 880s (or whatever the heavier version is) with a 7.3 diesel it did raise it a bit. I’m very happy with the stock replacement Bilstein shocks. If I had a do over, I’d get the HD version vs the Comfort version I have on the front. the comfort version seems a tad floaty if I’m...
Seeing your progress makes me wish I had more time. I’m happy with my build using existing cabinets. I would still like to replace the plastic inner panels on the passenger side that were damaged by the POs.
I’ll be following along with you build, as with Abitibi, to see what you do...
One finger :D I’m glad you figured it out
What’s involved in doing a proper bleed? Is it more than cycling side to side with no load on the wheels?
My steering is fine, but I don’t think quite one finger. Sometime I’ll flush the fluid and need to bleed it well.
Condolences to all who knew and loved Pat. I never had the opportunity to meet him, but feel like I knew him. May you rest in piece, you’ll be missed Pat.
My own bias is that my first POS car was beige and I hate brown. That said I like the look of a khaki FJ40 with Black (& white) trim... makes no sense. I even considered white for a long time, but it’d always be dirty and therefore look brown.
Blue will be its shiny colour.
I'd vote or Toyota Cement or Lunar Rock. Not a big fan of tan's and brown... Oh wait, my 40 is Khaki... How'd that happen? I think it'd be too big on an Ambo though.
Seeing it’s front end tore open like that is triggering my PTSD ;).
Be sure to check your body cross member for cracks before reinstalling it. I had to tear in that deep to weld it back into one piece.
You likely already know that, if you remove the coolant & A/C lines from the front edge of...
The seller said we could install the program before buying and pay if it works. The risk is that if it fails part way through, it can destroy the computer. Then I’m stuck at his place in Sooke... it’d need a tow &/or a new computer to move again.
Equally bad is that it could brick it if I ever...
How true. Shortly after buying it, I thought it needed glow plugs. So... I ordered a set and a new relay for good measure. What I knew for sure was that the glow plugs weren't heating up. I figured that I'd replace the Glow plug relay before pulling the valve covers and replacing the Glow plugs...
I didn’t bother taking a picture of the installed sensor. I thought these might be more interesting. I found the thin bracket that held the intake resonator box (or whatever the useless thing is called) was broken.
My first thought was to weld it... but some foolish PO brazed it. As though a...
I called Hypertech... they of course tried to scare me off using a 15+ year old tuner saying that if it dies partway through the process it'll kill the PCM. I'm not sure if that's just a scare tactic or not.
If the tune wasn't returned to original on the last vehicle it was used on, it's a...
