    SOLD: 1942 Bantam T3 w/ RTT (PNW)

This really is a great starter trailer to learn what you really want before you plunk down >$10k more on that shiny, new trailer you have your eye on. Heck, pick this one up while you’re waiting for your dream camper trailer order to get delivered 12-24 months from now. If you want specific...

Wanted Overland Trailer or M416 project in the greater Seattle area.

If you do decide you want a project I have a Bantam T3 (M416). The frame is solid and already has the Timbren suspension and RTT (on a fixed height rack). In current form, it can more than get you by until you have the time to take on converting it to your needs. I think I made it sound worse...

    SOLD: 1942 Bantam T3 w/ RTT (PNW)

1942 Bantam T3 w/ Tepui Autana $2500, Washington title in-hand Local Only, I'm in Woodinville (Greater Seattle Area) and will not ship. I hate to see it go, but we've bought an offroad teardop trailer and need the space in the garage. This is a very functional trailer that tows well on/off...

Rooftop Tents - you call that a rain fly!

The bigger issue with RTT rain flys not providing full coverage is when you need to pack up and the canvas sides are still wet. The way my Tepui is sealed it has no trouble keeping moisture out. When the windows are shut moisture from the occupants does condense everywhere (the little vents at...

    Wondering??

https://www.genesisoffroad.com/JeepJLDualBattery-p/185-jldbk.htm Where are you finding a big battery unit UNDERNEATH a JL? Are you mistaking the evap canister for a battery?

    Roof top tent sheets/bedding

What about cutting the foam mattress down to a Queen length or replacing it with a Full and then putting sheets on it? We added a 4" memory foam topper and put sheets on it. When snow camping I'm usually solo and just use a sleeping bag instead of fussing about with actual bedding.

    Camp rug?

Another vote for the CGear mats. Picked a set up last year and they work nicely.

Question to fridge owners - Do you leave it “running” in cold ambient temps?

My ARB runs 24/7/365 in my Jeep. When I get home each day I plug it in to "shore power" via a NOCO GCP-1 to keep from unnecessarily cycling my batteries. It certainly gets questions from the neighbors and passers by like "is your Jeep a hybrid?"

    JKU 37's

I'm 5'9" and had to keep my arms nearly fully extended and on my tip-toes; talk about exhausting when the zipper doesn't want to play nice. I keep one of these in the Jeep now when I have the RTT mounted and plan on using the annex: (Side note- I've always wondered what vehicle the annexes...

    JKU 37's

With 90k miles in the seat of your JKU, you know what its capable of and where it's shortcomings are. If you wheel smart and don't have anything to prove to your trailmates you should have no hardware breakage issues running 37s that shouldn't happen with a smaller tire. I'd focus less on...

    No Top/Soft Top Overland Trip

I've done it. In fact almost all of my spring and summer trips are soft top trips. I think it comes down to how long you're going to be in "peoplely" places and how much you trust them with gear strapped down. When fully loaded and things are somewhat accessible in known crappy area or I have...

Cheap tricks and solutions - product modifications, DIY, or repurposed items- not on-sale items

Camp cookware- Use old pots, pans, and silverware that your wife has destined for the donation bin or pick up a set someone else got rid of at a garage sale or secondhand store. Leave the fancy stuff to the raised pinky finger and backpacking crowd. Recreation- I like to have a game or two...

Anyone tried the Tepui Luxury roof top mattress?

I found a queen-sized 4" perforated memory/gel foam topper that has worked fairly well for my wife and I who are both side sleepers. It can still get a tad warm in the summer months but not unbearable and it doesn't turn into a rock in the winter (it does firm up a bit until your body heat...

    off-brand awnings?

The "bags" are actually quite hefty and durable; the same material used for RTT covers (at least for the Tepui/CVT/ARB awnings, I have no experience with the "off-brand" but assume they are extremely similar). I have had dragged it across a tree on a tight trail more than a few times as well as...

Awning "tent": is it a vestibule, annex, or "add a room"?

Awning walls are going to be made of the same material as the awning itself unless you want the mosquito mesh. Have you considered looking at popup canopy walls? It more than likely won't be a perfect fit, but they'd be made out of something lighter weight. Another option is to use three or...

Dilemma : Keep Modded XJ or Get JK Rubicon

Unless you're buying new and you can truly afford it, stick with the XJ since it is a known quantity that you fully understand. It isn't at all uncommon for JKs and JKUs in the PNW to be built and wrapped, mercilessly flogged for a year or two, and returned to stock to be sold to an...

Rivnut in dash as base for RAM mount?

The first bit of corduroy and I see disaster; you really need something rigid that can handle/distribute the load without deflection. Keep in mind that any arm or extension is going to multiply the effect.

What happened to the JL/JLT thread?

I'm bored so lets break this down: Nobody at FCA gives a f--- about your opinion, nor will they be compelled to only change or retain what you agree with. Nobody on Allpar gives a f--- about your opinion, nor do they have to come around to your line of thinking. (I've read the thread.) Nobody...

    Cold weather Overlanding tips

I add a buddy heater, extra gloves, extra wool socks, layering appropriate clothes, and slightly more firewood than I think I'll need. My meals are also much simpler since my hands may have less dexterity without gloves while prepping/cooking. I second the snowboarding pants recommendation...
