Looks like everything is working out well. The guy want`s to pick up the Blazer on thursday...
Tunnel without a mountain, now i got the idea. Did we meet there when i picked up the L300?
So after two hours i managed it to put some new treads in the brake caliper. After that it took me like 5min to reassemble the missing left side. Then i wanted to start painting the front axle, but that would`ve been too easy, wouldn`t it? So i drove out of my frontyard to turn the car around...
This is how the exhaust looked:
And the exhaust manifold:
Few pics from yesterday...
It rained all the time and the L300 doesn`t fit in my shop, so i placed some tarps over it:
Wheels primered:
And painted:
Doesn`t look that bad anymore, does it?
Placed some more stickers...
Spent the whole day at the front brakes and i`m not even finished yet...
Passenger side went flawless, everything worked like it was supposed to. Then i started with the drivers side. I wasn`t able to unbolt the brake caliper, both bolts were rusted big time. So we tried to get the hub out...
I could use some platic wheels, but i chose the steel ones because the brakes get hot and would melt the plastic ones. And i think they hold up better...
The weight is fine for me, i can carry it without any problems...
He told me ************* stories that he`s ill and sick and all that ****. I asked him why he`d buy a car if he isn`t able to drive it, but he wasn`t able to answer that question...
Where`s the tunnel without a mountain? Never heard that saying before...
Another bummer today... :-( I noticed a crack in the exhaust manifold and wanted to weld it. For better access i removed the heat cover and noticed another crack all the way around the manifold. It`s basically broken in half. So i removed the manifold and exhaust completely and noticed another...
Hopefully it`s not done soon, because i usually sell my car`s when they`re done...
Big setback today: For some reason the bedliner didn`t stick really good to the car and peeled off at some spots. Looks like i have to redo the paint... :Wow1:
Made some great progress today...
One of the last few spots:
My dad fitting some metal in:
Me cutting the rust out:
Finished:
My sister sanding it:
Me wirebrushing the underside:
Result:
Then my sister and my neightboor helped me painting it:
Result:
Me thinking...
Right side welding is finished:
Looks like an incredible bad job with the flash, but it looks fine in person... :ylsmoke:
From what i`ve seen there are only one or two small spots on the left side. Then just the three spots on the rear fenders and i`m done... :wings:
