On to the front driveshaft, I need a 28" compressed front shaft, and almost everything is either 26" or 33"... I thought I found a winner a the yard yesterday when I stumbled upon a bolt in 28.75" ford explorer unit but it's just a touch too long. I ended up settling on the explorer unit and...

Thanks! Agreed, no complaints here on the new addition to the fleet. Really appreciate that, thanks man. Man, you're totally stealing my thunder on this next post haha. Cliff notes, no compromises for ride comfort at all, huge improvement between the digressive 5100's & larger diameter tires...

So stoked to upgrade these shafts. I was going to wait until after this weekends camping trip but decided to get them swapped right away. I was worried they may conflict with the C gussets, but no issues at all. All it needs now is a compressor, switches, solenoids and a front driveshaft.

We managed to get the new canoe out for a maiden voyage on the big lake. Paddled about 10k total and found this little private beach. I can't wait to see this thing with both canoes on the roof. These popped up for sale lightly used for a very good price. Looks like this 30 is getting...

The sway bar was contacting the frame on any amount of up travel, so notching the cross member... All the room now. Swapped out the front studs for longer ones. Working on an e-brake cable set up. Made up these tabs to adapt from the square style to a ball. Finished up with a...

Back to the grind, Trying to make this XJ front shaft work and a couple of sections of Y-pipe for the exhaust mod. Changing out the front ouput yoke & seal (leaking) Should have drained it first, what a mess. Comparing S10 to XJ Fabbed up a mount to make the new steering stabilizer...

Thanks^ still lots to do. The truck on small tires is definitely a statement lol. It looks like a monster truck being transported to shows. Thanks for the good words, no interest in selling it at all haha. We slapped together a couple racks for the new unit. This will clean up the storage...

At the junkyard trying to source an XJ front shaft, struck out but hoping to find something soon. This Bluetooth front shaft isn't going to do it in the bush. Sitting next to a 1-ton & 3/4 ton, really not that big. The wife surprised me with an early birthday present. We want to start...

Yesterday the smoke finally shoved off so we went for a quick paddle on the big lake. I definitely need to build a step off the trailer hitch for getting in & out of the camper. Can't beat this May-long weather. Decided to try and unload the camper without changing the tires. These tires...

Thanks for all the good words guys. Pretty stoked about the progress so far. Made a few corrections and tweaks in the last day or so. Started by adjusting* the new flex lines, they were uncomfortably close to the tire. Quick bend with a brake line tool and now they are mint, Fixed a small...

Definitely going to be sticking with these tires for now. Once they wear out maybe go up to 255/85/16's The shocks only had about 1" of stroke left with the stock XJ coils, I definitely had to go with a lift coil. Mounting the camper tomorrow if all goes to plan. Definitely stick with the...

Thanks! You & I both. Now I'm looking at it saying "huh, I could easily stuff 35's...." Thanks, no test drive just yet. Need to bleed the brakes and do a rough alignment first. Maybe later today.

Thanks guys, it's starting to get close. Had a buddy over a night ago who needed some welding on his f350 camper tie-downs. Managed to get the bare frame painted when he was here. Had enough left over to do both sides front to back. It's just brushed on por15, it'll look a lot better with...

^ funny enough we never listen to the stereo. Typically we are chatting and trying to figure out where to go next when we are camping. Made some good headway today Setting my track bar angle, double checking to make sure bump steer is not an issue. This IRO drop bracket drops wayyy too much...

^ Definitely on both fronts. I can't wait to see the camper on the new setup. Well..... I had promised I would have this done by May long for wifey's birthday, but it's not looking good at the moment... One downside of pre-buying all of your swap parts a year+ in advance is when you mess up...

^ & ^^, that's awesome. I feel like almost everyone born before the 2000's has owned an S-series at some point. Made some good progress yesterday/tonight. Bench seat out This bench is so comfy but the material is really starting to breakdown. Disassembled and brought it over to an...

^ When I was about 16 I started working on my red truck & reading S10 forum. Since that time I've had this dream of having a street truck & a SAS'd bush truck. It's very cool to see this one coming together after 20 years of "dreaming" haha. It's been a slow week. Buddy came over to change out...

Another trip to picknpull for misc stuff. The sway bar saga continues, Crewcab S10 bar on top of a TJ bar. The TJ bar would rub the tire far to much S10 bar on top of explorer bar, S10 bar has a bit more clearance for tires and fits the 30 axle points better. I think the S10 ZR5 sway bar is...

^ It's a pretty sweet truck, '50*. He just finished a 10 bolt, 700r4 swap with a newer inline 6 cylinder. Setting up the front end fully. Setting caster and squaring it up Every time I touch this truck another 10lbs of dirt falls out. Coil bucket tacked in and sitting on it's own weight...

^That would have been great. Far too many beers were consumed during that 6 days. A couple of hours put in yesterday, Rear bar & brackets cleaned up U bolt plates modified, Old sway bar mounts cut off, new mounts welded in place. tacked in the shock mounts as well. Nice surprise, the 33"...
