It was a good eclipse! I was missing my 400mm lens as 300mm just isn't close as I'd like to be. lesson learned.
Your composite is great! I thought of doing the same thing but just enjoyed the show as it was with my daughter and her friend running laps around hunting ghosts.
Or just a bowl of hot water and a towel. Takes up less space and can be used for multiple things. I personally don't like the 'just a shower' concept. seems a bit excessive to bring along something that does just one thing.
For a while I had the Coleman instant hot water heater, which also...
I too plan to travel to Fiji and New Zealand (and points beyond) around this time next year. I am every interested to hear your impressions especially traveling with a child.
I'm not near a useful computer at the moment, but would taking it black and white bring more attention to the details, if that's what you're looking for?
Call them and they'll send you new ones. I had 5 and they sent all new lids, no questions asked. It came from Canada ground post so it took a bit to get here, but all is better.
Brian (from WA), now the tire is on the left side. :)
On the topic of cropping after the image is shot, I posted an article over on digital photography site. It's mainly aimed at cropping for printing mainly with some freeform cropping thrown in.
Sweet find!!
My wife, daughter and I plan to take an around the world trip in 2009 and want to somehow create material like this. Something we can use to educate our own daughter as she won't be in school, as well as help schools of interest connect with a location through more meaningful...
Trevor, I took a quick look at your site and really like your work.
Case in point for what makes a good photograph.
This image from your site can use some technical adjustments but I don't care cus it speaks to me of the open road (once again, where I'd rather be than in a cube)
Show this same...
On top of Brian's comments about technical aspect I'd add; emotion. Emotion and connecting with the subject makes a big impact on what a good photo is. Since "what good is" is an individual taste, individual emtion matters a lot.
Take your last 4 images. I like them, they are cool. But the...
I bought 4 M200A1 trailers from them before from For Lewis in Washington. Easy transaction and good help with getting them off the base.
BTW, I have one other M200A1 left if anyone is interested. It's heavier than the small ones as it's 2.5 ton. The last one I had on eBay sold for a...
Just a couple of quick takes.
In the first one I changed the crop to remove the vastness. While vast is good, the framing didn't jive with me for some reason. I added some black to it and removed all saturation.
The second one; I cropped the bottom of the picture which wasn't doing anything...
Just a point of clairity: the original posted noted a donation of 10% of the price to ExPo, not a 10% off offer. I'm sorry if you read a 10% discount on the item. The donation is because I like this site not having a lot of advertisement and it's a great resource I'd like to help keep running.
Here's another option

these folks are in Chico, CA so it might be a bit easier to get them, maybe cheaper. We've been using these exclusively for 2 years now and they hold up just as well.
They can stop it the same way Ford can stop the Vespa scooter. They are aimed at different markets. Remember Bill Gate's vision is a "Computer in every home running Microsoft software", or something close to that. I shouldn't have used quotes but deleting takes soooooo much work. Where as...
Just got an update that ours won't ship for a couple of months. but the good news is they are in the hands of kids in Mongolia.

Have it shipped. Or better yet, there are drive-a-way services. I got a lifted Discovery driven from PA to WA for about $700.
Heck, in a month, I'll drive it back for ya if you fly me out there.
HOLY!! WHAT THE!?!?! Expedia says it's $164 for a one way ticket, non-stop flight from...
I fiddled around a bit and this is what I came up with. The first might be too saturated. Also attached are the changes I made using Adobe Lightroom. The yellow shift on the second one was to bring it back close to what you had originally.
