As someone mentioned above, the Colorado ZR2 is the only one with Auto-4WD which is very handy in snow. It's also the only truck that comes from the factory with front and rear lockers. I don't know if you do your own maintenance, but oil changes on the Colorado (gas) are super easy.
I've been meaning to ask, how do you guys deal with the bugs? You seem to always camp next to rivers or lakes, so I have to imagine the mozzies are out in force.
My ARB is mounted in the same spot on my Colorado. I found hooking up the hose to be a pain in the ass. I made up a hose and connected it to the chuck which I mounted on the plastic surround like so:

Another vote for the Colorado/Canyon. I'm 6'3" and have plenty of room. I too had a 4Runner and hit my head on the roof every bump. It really hurt if I had my sunglasses on top of my head.

That's actually how I had things at first, in un-rolled tool rolls. I found they kept shifting around and tools came out of them if they weren't wrapped tight. I feel that I've been able to fit in more tools this way. YMMV.
