LC Engineering Header and Pro Flow Exhaust System The last bit of work we did to the truck before leaving on our cross Canada trip was to install a completely new exhaust system. LC Engineering shipped us one of their Street Headers, a Pro Flow Exhaust System, and a new Magnaflow catalytic...

Hey there Yurtdweller! I had installed OME torsion bars before leaving on our trip, so they were able to handle the little bit of additional weight without an issue. Honestly though, the bumper was lighter than expected so I think it would have been just fine with stock suspension. I grew up...

Hey Tacoverlander, The sound deadening definitely helped. It's not magic by any means, but the noise is decreased slightly and heat transfer into the cab has been reduced. The mud terrains on the highway with the windows rolled down kind negates any sort of sound deadening though ;)

Hey humboldt, This will work, but only if you have don't plan on using the stock lower shock mounts, which I'm assuming you're not. Give Timbren a call to confirm part numbers though.

Thanks for the advice. I have the gearsets and install kits now. Just need to find somebody to install them for us. Really looking forward to the 4.88s. I'm running 265s now, but if the gearing ends up being too steep that just means I can move up to 285s next time ;)

Maintenance Day! You know what I love about being in North America? The abundance of auto parts! During the first time in the store after returning from South America I must have spent an hour in AutoZone just walking down the aisles one by one. In my distant past as a teenager I never...

Hi Lonnie, It all depends on what you want to use your truck for, and how. The most difficult "obstacles" for us were the extremely steep streets in small towns in Mexico. There were a few times when I had to put the truck in low range to make it up a hill. We drove as high as 16,500ft...

PHeller, The 22RE is painfully stock other than a slightly more aggressive cam (sorry, don't know the specs) and 2.25" exhaust. It's slow, but I guess I got used to it after awhile. I'd love to have just a little bit more power out of it and I'd love to throw some 4.88 gears in the truck...

After tens of thousands of kilometres of far-less-than-marginal braking performance on our fully-loaded truck, we thought it was time to upgrade our brakes before accidentally hitting a stray guanaco crossing the road. I'll admit that I was really surprised at the improvement that these EBC...

New Pro Comp Xtreme MT2s After 40,000 trouble-free kilometers, from Vancouver to Santiago, it is time to replace our trusty Pro Comp Mud Terrains. I originally bought them because A) they were a legit mud-terrain with a beefy sidewall, and B) they were on sale. It was an easy decision to put...

JWP58 , the castors have been working out really well so far with thousands of kms of dirt roads banging the drawer around. I think I paid $12 total for them. These are pretty low quality, but were the only option I could find in Ecuador.
