I came across this video.
It looks like that Ford Ranger is a quite tough truck.
https://youtu.be/qWV3CrldmMc
This is not a soft test they put the truck in. I hope its american brother will be just as good as the Australian one.
I wonder how different the Australian Ranger is from the US...
This is true.
However, this only apply some of Toyota's vehicle.
For example Toyota LC 70 is the same model as it was 30 years ago. They only changed dashboard and some minor decorative things.
Rest is the same as it always was.
No doubt TLC70 is best and most reliable vehicle ever built...
We...

What I meant was that the Tundra is gonna get the offroad gadgets as the Taco TRD offroad has got. + a rear facory locker.
Then their chief engineer is gonna announce that they have "totally" resigned the Tundra. As they did say regarding the 3rd gen Taco.
And the Toyota fans will...

Not sure. That's why I am asking. People happen to like that new transmission. My logic tells me that it could be better for F250 as well.
This I don't know. I hope they will put it. It has better gear ratios and you could have better control over the truck.
Don't forget big trucks...
I suspect they will be the same trucks. The same engineering 98%.
The Tundra is gonna get a factory lockers, all those crawl control gadgets and new stickers.
Just for safety reasons I would buy a gas truck.
There are no good (or call it american quality) diesel in many countries of Latin America.
------------
I have question to the ford guys here.
Why has not Ford put the new 10 speed transmission in F250/350 yet?
Is not the 10 speed more...
There is no way a tundra can get 30mpg. It's just empirically wrong.
Only truck, right now on the market that can get 30mpg is Colorado diesel. There has never been anything likes this in the US market.
Btw, Ford is also going to put a new 3.0 diesel. Very soon. And the mpg numbers may be in...
While I am very exited about this truck I am still quite skeptical about their choice of the engine.
They should have used the 2.7 eco boost. It would have been an absolute savage small truck.
If I buy a new truck I want it to last for 10 years. I seldom buy stuff but when I do I buy it for...
folks we, for some reason, keep forgetting that Tundra and Tacoma are indeed domestic trucks.
They are as Japanese as Domino pizza is Italian. (Founded by an Irish guy in Michigan).
They might be better trucks but not nearly as good as TLC70 or TLC200 or even 4R
In a train station parking lot yesterday I saw a new F250 and a TLC200.
My observation now is that the new F250 looks fantastic, but it's just too big, even compare to TLC200. It is so roomy, so well designed inside that It is hard not to give a credit.
So many extra compartments and outlets...
Compare to a TLC80?
You might be right. I just don't know the dimensions.
However, a neighbor of my gf's parents has a TLC60 and Lexus (TLC200). It could be just me but that Lexus looks huge compare to the old tlc60.
btw TLC60 is the most beautiful SUV Toyota has ever built. IMHO It just had...

That is 80% what I am gonna do.
Here in NYC area people (mostly moms and milfs) drive very well preserved TCL100. Those care never saw a dirt road)
Not sure what I like most the drivers or their cars :D
I just asked the question because I came across a new 2017 F250 with an FX4...
wow I have triggered a good conversation :D
let me restate my question and elaborate my point.
pls note I am not a ford guy nor I am a toyota guy. I have a saab wagon. In a year or two me and my gf/partner will be looking for a vehicle that will serve us for 10+ years.
I need / want to have a...
Ok what about F250 FX4 vs TLC200
Lets say one has got many to pick a new car for solely overland/expedition.
Which on is better?
F250 FX4 vs TLC200
Solid axles vs only rear solid axles
locking rear diff vs no factory lockers
chose between gas or diesel vs only gas
60000 vs 110000
higher...
If you have time wait for a new F-150 diesel or Chevy 1500 diesel.
They should come out somewhere next year.

I am very surprised that people, in our community, have started thinking about fuel consumption. It was not the case even 5 years ago.
I guess increasing coast of gas makes its...
No question the truck looks bold.
However I have few concerns:
1) given the size of the tires I am sure they have re-geared the original axles. I doubt that the original 3.5 axles can handle 35's.
2) How reliable the body lift is in long term abuse?
3) Do we really need 35's in overladning...
UP Michigan is my absolutely favorite place. One of the most remote and beautiful places in Midwest.
I have good memories form those places.
Since you have had the ZR2 for a coupe of moths, I assume the engine has already broken in...
What is the current MPG?
I would pick a ZR2 over a Tacoma...
