I'm a little late but different types of wool can be itchy. It might not be an allergy if that's the only symptom. If you are curious, besides getting tested by professionals, you could handle some merino wool at a store and see if it makes you itch as it is very soft. A merino wool blanket...
I think they call these battery units generators so that when consumers comparison shop RV generators, (I mean actual electricity producing generators) these battery units will come up in an internet search.
Also, while we can debate longstanding industry terminology and the English language on...
I have been looking at a lot of options too. It seems like the Outfitter Apex is about as plush a pop up as any with a north south bed, basement and wet bath. I really like the higher roofline when opened up. I also like the northern lite a lot but unless I buy a dually for the 10-2, the...
Thanks for posting the pop up comparison to hard side. Did you consider the larger pop ups when you decided on your northstar? Seems like Hallmark or Outfitter models with wet baths and insulated pop up material would have met some of the same positives you listed for hard side campers.
Has something changed as far as availability of the Kenai?

I thought at least one member had pre-ordered the Kenai a while ago.
I agree. I don't think a few inches of overhang should effect the mattress holding shape. I'm also concerned with obstructions that might not be visible in the photographs I have seen or that the overhang might interfere with sitting at the dinette or make it difficult to climb into the bed.
I pretty much have the same question so I bumped this older thread. I'm 6'4" and will be traveling with my wife so sleeping diagonal isn't an option and my feet barely reach the end of an 80" bed so an east west might not work.
Finding a light weight truck camper with an 80" north south bed, 80...
Thank you! My biggest issue researching pop ups is the north south cabovers mostly have RV queen beds and I need a full 80 inches and my feet still hang over. I could make an 80 inch east west work if I used a smaller pillow but the true north south queen in the Northern lite is a huge selling...
I don't want to keep adding threads that basically ask very similar questions so I'll just post it here:
How much does the lower roofline of a pop up improve driving dynamics. For example, does it handle noticeably better in crosswinds and around corners?
For perspective, I am primarily...
I did look at their Instagram and I agree. Kind of odd they were named as a top new truck camper in 2021. The article has some interior photos that aren't on the manufacturer website or Instagram. It looks like molded fiberglass and from what I understand, the molds are very expensive so they...
Interesting new truck camper made of fiberglass:

Found out about it from this article:
https://www.truckcamperadventure.com/best-new-truck-campers-for-2021/
The build quality seems top notch and I like the hard side aft the cabover when raised.
Does anyone have experience with a pop up camper and hard side camper of otherwise similar proportions on the same truck to compare fuel economy? The front edge of most pop ups don't look very aerodynamic but obviously have less frontal surface area. My guess is the pop up would do better but...
From the linex website:
"There are two separate materials that are precisely dispensed through a high pressure, plural component internal mixing polyurethane spray machine. They are each heated to 120-140 degrees with the temperature maintained through a heated hose. Using high pressure, the...
I am referring to the application process when the bedliner spray comes out of the nozzle at 120 degrees and is applied to the surface. Disregarding the color, would the application process delaminate the panels?
Also, I assume you meant "our statement should *NOT* be understood as a weakness of...
I noticed on the total composites website recommendations against painting the exterior in dark colors because it could cause delamination from sun radiation. I assume a coat of line-x type bed liner spray would also cause delamination because it is applied heated?
If you saw voids and rough edges, maybe they used higher quality materials on the prototype then went with budget on the final product. I agree that CNC cuts are likely because it's a volume product and there is a "scout" logo cut out of the cabinet near the sink, (I don't have any experience...
When I was in high school and college, I worked in a couple upholstery shops to include automotive, marine and I built a couple booths for restaurants. The plywood in the scout looks decent quality in the photos and very open for storage exposing the structure. If staples were used to connect...
