    Suburban Exhaust Fan

Might be easier to just modify the existing fan circuit so that it can be switched on with the key off.

    Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx

I've had mine for almost 25k miles now and I still like them. The only thing I've noticed is that the truck seems to have a lot of "wiggle". It's particularly noticeable when driving in windy conditions. I admit, a '99 Suburban doesn't have the greatest stock suspension, but it seems to be worse...

    Joined the Turbo Tent Club!

Got my Pine Tree 8 Turbo Tent a week ago and finally had time to set it up for the first time. I do have two questions though.... What is the correct pole arrangement for the annex? You can see in the third picture that the pole has an odd alignment and doesn't seem correct to me. How...

Turbo Tent users, step inside please

Well.....after following this thread and reading a few other historical threads, i have placed my order for a Pineview 8. I had originally been set on a Kodiak or Springbar, but I really think the need to stake down the Kodiak & Springbar is a downside. The quick and easy setup of the Turbo Tent...

Anyone have pix of how they mounted solar panels

I STRONGLY urge you to find a more permanent method of securing your solar panels other than zip ties. In the heat and direct sunlight you will only get about 12 months of reliable strength from those zip ties. They will quickly become brittle and will easily break, then WOOSH!, there go your...

    Bear-resistant coolers

The point being....spending $250 on a "bear proof" cooler is just silly. Spending $250 on technically provable features is one thing (super insulated, attached blender, converts into a Tiki Bar, etc) but there are far better tactics to making your camp site "bear proof" than relying on marketing...

How to repair small screw holes in Pelican cases?

I do not own a Pelican, but I believe they are made from a glass filled nylon material. This should be patchable with a standard fiberglass patch kit.

Just repaired a broken bolt (stuck 1cm deep in the cylinder head) - use a Banjo Bolt

Excellent idea. You just re-invented the threaded drill bushing (at a much lower one-off price.) :sombrero: http://omegatec.com/om590dbk-threaded-drill-bushing-kit.aspx

    Suburban gearing question

From my experience, most "towing packages" don't change the GCWR of the vehicle, they just add things that are either convenient (hitch & wiring) or aid in extending the life of the vehicle while towing (transmission cooler & temp gauge) or change the performance or fuel economy (gears).

    Battery Usage Calculation

The OP is a beginner....throwing all these finer details at him is not going to help him grasp the fundamentals.
