I am currently building an expedition truck (The second. The first is still in use after 20 years).
My primary aim is light weight and durability.
For all of the inside furniture, I visited a distributor of multi wall polycarbonate roofing and picked up a pile of reject sheets with scratches and...
Some marketing success requires just ONE of the following features....
1. Better.
2. Cheaper
3. Different
Cybertruck has #3. Some people will buy it.
If any product has any 2 of the above it will do very well.
If it has all 3 it will 'clean up'.
Cheers,
Peter

I am currently building a new expedition truck.
The habitat is completely glued together. There is no wood and no steel, a lot of plastic and glass and some aluminium.
The habitat is glued to the chassis.

We like carpet on the floor of our truck.
We use an indoor/outdoor version that is cut to size and held in place with velcro patches in the corners.
On the road it is easy to remove to shake out the sand and dirt.
From time to time we remove it and hit it with a pressure cleaner and it comes up...
We have a similar wet bathroom. I fitted a sliding window that can be left open while driving and there is a diesel heater outlet there too.
Our diesel heater is always producing heat from the engine while driving which heats the hot water but it can also be used to heat the bathroom which...
I make my own plastic water and diesel tanks.
Well, I actually make the moulds from sheet metal and have a local moulder mould them for me.
The process is "rotomoulding". Powered MDPE is placed inside the mould which is then rotated through 3 dimensions inside an oven. The powdered plastic melts...
Don't under rate solar, even in bad weather it will help. You can not have too much solar. It has never been cheaper.
We have 1160W of solar (and a 20 year old PWM controller), diesel for heating and hot water. No generator. Our propane usage is for cooking only. We can charge the 328Ah (12V)...
I know of various mines who have trialed other vehicles including several Fords (which are readily available in Oz). They all go back to Toyotas.
Some of those cattle station Toyotas are over 20 years old and still working. There was a late model Nissan Patrol "town car", but that was not...
I suggest that is not the case.
Most mines in Oz are open cut & size is not an issue. It comes back to life and reliability. They use almost nothing else except Toyotas.
Same applies to cattle stations. Most working vehicles are 70s with maybe a couple of Hiluxs.
We worked on a cattle station...
I would not use any fuel heater in a closed or limited ventilation space.
If you think they do not produce carbon monoxide, I think you are kidding yourself.

Gelignite is a good quick way to catch fish too, but that does not make it appropriate in a beautiful pristine place, or anywhere else for that matter.
