According to Fuelly.com, a 3.5TT F150 gets about 2.2mpg more than a 5.7L Tundra. I bought a 2018 F150 for the power, fuel economy and aftermarket. If you’re OK with all of those on the Tundra, I’d look very hard at getting the Toyota.

I would expect the Ranger MPG observations will get better as warmer temperatures arrive, along with summer gas, and the engines get broken in. A lot of the newer engines have such low internal friction, they run quite rich to get things up to temp.

We just put KYB struts on our 2015 at 90k miles and noticed a huge improvement in body control. I can’t imagine what yours feels like with 156k on it.

Forester or Rav4 are my two top picks at the moment.

Our 2015 3.6R has averaged 22.7mpg over 88k miles, according to our log on Fuelly.com. I think that’s great considering all of our family trips have been with the cargo box on top, or else it would probably be a few tenths higher. The small mileage penalty is worth having the 6cyl, imho.

You’re thinking of the 2.7TT. The best I’ve seen on my 2018 3.5TT w/10spd is 23.3mpg indicated on the dash.
