Nothing wrong with giving feedback as a viewer. Need to hear all kinds of feedback to improve on the end product. That one bit of feedback could make all the difference.

What about a couple of bolts attached to the cross bars. Drill a hole through each. Slide the Treds over the bolts through one of holes in the tred. Then use either a carbiner or padlock to secure them via the holes in the bolt
You could also do it as a fold down end cap to your trail top trailer. Hinged at the bottom the end cap would become the bed base and the canvas would form the walls/roof
