Starting about 10 years ago farm/cattle chemicals have been showing up in the ground water here so the popular spring water sources have been closing/getting warning signs.
Road salt/dirt is a magnet for condensation. I've seen voltage leak 3" through the salt/dirt mix.
Coat the connections with Tef-Gel or NOALOX as well as the cable seals/ grommets/orings.
Fuses aren't waterproof. I've had them turn green inside.
Today I flipped spun and twirled the Open Country AT3, Wildpeak AT3 and the KO2 . I couldn't figure out what your measuring to say there's a difference in the tread block spacing.
The summer tires were new +/-1000 miles on them.
As to the alignment. I took it to 2 shops and there was...
I agree but I would add a caution on voltage drop. I've seen it when wiring is sized for a 10-15% (not 1% or less) voltage drop. Under load there's 0.5-1.0V drop so the most the bank gets is an absorption charge.
I thought about tread depth. The difference is 3/32. When I took the Wildpeak off (still wandering) the tires were 14-15/32 which is where the KO2 start.
How are you comparing aggressive? What makes the Wildpeak more aggressive?
Another interesting factor is side by side at 70psi the K02...
FORD's Superduty steering is known to wander. I tried a set of Wildpeaks on my F350 and the truck was all over the road. I suspect it's was the lighter (2ply vs. 3) sidewall. A steering stabilizer might have solved the problem but it was in the spring so I swapped to the summer tires on instead...
That's a great stove and fix.
I was wondering if the solder is 60/40 lead which isn't very strong. When I'm looking for a high strength solder connection I'll use silver solder.
Keep the 5500. It leaves all the options open.
-Worst thing will be the ride but you can solve that by downgrading the springs and upgrading the shocks. You can also look at Kelderman and Liquid $$$$$pring suspensions
-The smaller trailer will be better off road but still limiting. The 5500...
All chains can be used on/off the pavement.
I carry a set of (diamond) chains under the seat all year. These are all you need. They are lite/easy/fast to put on. I ALWAYS use tensoiners. Starting with the star type then add more and MORE (bungee cords) depending on (centrifical force) how fast...
If someone wants to find out how good the water is in their home (and the RV) pull the lid off a toilet tank and run their hand around the inside. Stir the water up to check for sediment and feel for slime on the sides of the tank.
The worst RV tanks (like a toilet tank) are the ones that...
An example is the F550 with a factory GVWR at 19.5k then Earthroamer lifts it AND increases the GVWR to 21k.
As fewer and fewer people understand the mechanics the (safety) numbers mean more and more.
You could try larger diameter spring over the smaller diameter springs but if the box is moving allot it's because the fixed points on the chassis is moving allot.
If the side to side differential over the axle is 3" then differential at the back will be more. It might be better if the fixed...
Chassis flex it good (except when there's an alum cab) but it shouldn't be transferred into the 2 mounts. .......it would be interesting to know if the chassis crossmember prevent (or how much) the front box mounts from moving on the XYZ axis.
The boxed (front) section of the chassis + cab...
yes I agree......but :) ......there is CYA benift to joining them together to make a solid beam that won't torque the chassis rails or deflect (bend) the flatbar.
How much wheel lift/ chassis twist did you allow for?
