I need a 4 bike rack for the family now that my youngest is riding. The idea of blocking the automatic plate readers appeals to me.

I use a cheap double receiver from harbor freight with a cheap Allen bike rack on my f150. The double receiver puts the bike rack far enough back to open the tailgate.

Why are you running a plate reader? You the “take back” man or something?

Anyone use one? Does it block your license plate? Anybody ever give you trouble for it?

Ford is really bad about inflating their sticker price and then having a “sale” they will come off it a lot. Look at the xl and xlt trims. The electronic stuff really drives the price up. NEVER go into the dealer without having the financing lined up first.

I think Toyota’s tow rating is conservative and I think fords is optimistic.

Ford increased the payload on the f150 by making it lighter. They made the frame stiffer by using a larger cross section but made it thinner to save weight. They got increased efficiency and it can tow a big boat but it would be really easy to tear up. Of course you can tear the Toyota up...

When I was truck shopping it came down to the Tacoma verses the f150. The Tacoma could not even come close.

I am glad to see this thread is still going. Comparing the tundra and f150 is kinda like comparing apples to water mellons. I think the f150 is more comparable to the first gen tundra or the Tacoma. It is a light duty half ton truck that is good for pulling a camper or a boat on the weekend...

Ryobi and dewalt both make chargers that will plug into a 12 voltcigarette lighter socket.

Current F150 hands down over the current tundra The 1st generation tundra was great.

What is the purpose? Why not just hook all the loads to the battery bank?

Their stuff is 1/2 the cost of the Dewalt stuff I have been using for years though.
