I have a 43Qt Edgestar fridge/freezer for sale. This was purchased for a project but it was too big. It is still new in the box and was only opened for about 10 minutes of test fitting. I run a 43qt in the Excursion and ran one in my Defender. I love these little fridges...
The Zeon 12k can not take synthetic, any synthetic, due to the drum design. Call Warn and ask. I did. Sure you can put the line on, but it's not designed for it and under a hard pull with limited layers on the drum... People put hockey pucks between body mounts for a cheap body lift. It works...
It has a lot less friction and tends to constrict and cinch on the drum. I even think Overland Journal did some testing with a bunch of winches and had this happen to them but I could be mistaken. It doesn't hapopen everyday, especially if not using the full capacity of the winch, but it's not...
I hope they have a fix soon. I just downloaded it with the intent to replace motionx with it this summer. Gpx importing is a necessity.
I've played around with it some and it looks promising. Certainly much prettier than motionx.
There are some good security nuts out there, but my tent took so long to undo all of those locknuts in such tight spaces and so high up that I was never concerned with it.
Addressing the "offroad" aspect...Notice my vote goes to the 70 series and my reasonings for choosing this vehicle did not include offroad prowess. The 70 series would not be my choice of vehicle out of those listed if offroad travel was weighted more heavily than other values. ;)
I should preface this whole thing with that fact that I think any difference between these vehicles is largely splitting hairs. They are all fantastic and have a great feature set to bring to anyone looking to complete an overland trip and are all very capable off-road, especially when fitted...
I don't know about that particular compressor, but for the MV50, most people drill and tap to 1/4" NPT. I would assume yours is the same. For more MV50 info on performance improvements that probably apply to the HF compressor as well...
A worthy list of vehicles for sure. Lots of heritage in that list.
For me, it would come down to what type of trip and where in the world I were taking it. I wouldn't want to have that Patrol in the USA, for example, in case something were to need servicing.
The J8 I think offers the most...
I haven't lived with or daily driven one, only driven for a day on road and trails but I didn't think it was bad. Lots of forum posts seem to indicate the same. It certainly won't be quick by any stretch of the imagination but I think it's livable.
I would start with 33s with that ratio and see how you like them. You can always go bigger when they wear out if you decide you need to. The 33s are noticeable, but not that bad in my opinion. Get a Procal to reset some shift points and you will be even happier.
It depends on what you plan to use it for and how much off-road you want to do. Coming from someone who has spent a good deal of time behind the wheel of both, the Excursion is much rougher and older than the Sequoia but far more easily/cheaply modified. The Sequoia's ride and handling is light...
Here is my opinion:

I think a 2.5" lift and 33-35" tires are perfect for a JKU for overland travel. 33s if you plan to do more road time, 35s for more offroad. It really just depends on what your end goals are. I personally like the AEV lifts. I think...
