Oil Burners (3.8L JK) show me your funnel and

I have an old V6, around 250,000 on it in my 3B. My go to filler is a cut off water bottle, cut the bottom out, work it in through the wires and when you are done, screw the cap back on, stuff the old sock back in the rear. This era of motor has the oil filler at the end next to the firewall...

3 Years Around North America, Plus a Few More

Thanks for the report. There is a lot of interesting things down there. I've told rangers about things I found that aren't on any maps and they give me hints about other places to find. One of my best sources was a guy at a Checker Auto in Moab. I don't tell many people where to find these...

Quit my job, sold my stuff, packed up the dogs and went on the road!

It's a tough row to hoe and I've lost a few critter friends in my time. I go across the street about every day to scratch my 4 fuzzy friends over there. Take care of Argos and we know your pain.

    wilderness campers

Scouts seem to be popular again. My friend had '63 and '64 Scouts. His wife made him get rid of them. His son is still pissed off about the lack of Scouts but he is also mad about the old Charger and the '67 Camero that his father sold. I don't blame the boy.

Quit my job, sold my stuff, packed up the dogs and went on the road!

It's tough to lose an animal companion. I was over at my neighbors house the other day and we went through the list of dogs and cats we have had in our group and sort of rated them. Some were the best of their breed in our minds and some were worthless. It isn't right to judge them. They never...

    More FG power

JATO bottles. They would toast that little piece of road lice car that always wants to tailgate me on the highway. Mine is so old that about all I can do is to advance the injector timing a bit and add a touch more fuel pressure. I did toy with the idea of propane injection.

    My Journey

It matters now Jerry. It makes you feel better and you should be able to get in any sort of heaven when it's your time. The choice of a heaven is up to you if you believe in that sort of stuff. As long as there are real dogs there, I'll be happy.

My slower than crap CJ5 build.

Sawzalls are hard to kill. It's usually the cord. My neighbor has a battery powered one, it works well.

The M~D~U Report: A Thousand Miles of Dirt in Utah

We were out there about the same time. '79/'80? A '64 Scout with a Chevy I6, a '79 Toyota PU and a '61 3B V6. The Moab overlook was the warm up trail. A few years ago a few friends did the overlook in a Cj5 and a Cj7. The Toyzuki folks wondered how mostly stock Jeeps could get up there.( F&R...

    Analog Weekend

Some of the pictures came up after the 2n't attempt, or was it the third try? All in all, a nice trip. I have a couple friends with LCs from that era. Both are green, Good to see some of the old iron out on a trail.

    An Englishman in Arizona

I'm happy that you enjoyed that little corner of the world. I get so used to seeing the mountains of Colorado and the lands in Utah, I cease to pay attention. Some times I wake up and pay attention. Always good to see it all from another's perspective.

1st Time to Moab and 5 days to plan it.....What are the best trails?

There is a lot of BLM land out there for free camping. I would say to get a real map so you know that you are not on somebodys' property. Given your time frame, you will barely scratch the surface.

    Tour de Canada part deux

You never met my grandfather or my brother. I am one of the most even tempered people you would ever meet. I had to be that way for my work. I went up to Wyoming with my parents and grandmother to do some things for my great aunt so my brother was left with my grandfather. They were going...

Trailer running lights on 2012 JKU not working

Check the wire from the trailer plug to the socket and check both ends. Corrosion happens at either end. We used to travel with a points file for a reason. When ever I have to plug anything in on the back of a vehicle, I check the lights, I have to wiggle the plug around to get things to work...
