Free: Beastly bumper for expo build. Central Coast, CA

I'm guessing it'll still be here then... I have a place to store it; so, there's really no rush. I would love to se it go to a good home. I think it was used on a utility truck... I may try to cut the ball mount out. I need a big drop carrier for my boat trailer. bb

Free: Beastly bumper for expo build. Central Coast, CA

Hi guys: I saw this listed for free on CL. I had no idea how big it was; so, I went and checked it out. It is about 7'. I'd have to cut a foot off of each end and seriously beef up my rear suspension for this to work on my truck. It's heavy. So, while I realized I probably couldn't use it, I...

Flippac lid crackling when I lie on it

The material is a honeycomb type of cardboard that is impregnated or sprayed with some kind of epoxy. So, I think the cracking sound is the normal cracking that that honeycomb stuff makes. Although I do wonder if each cracking sound suggests a little wear-and-tear on the lid. My FP is 15 years...

FlipPac Lid Repair 101 (or how to get in over your head in three easy steps...)

They tend to develop that curve on the driver's side as there is constant torque on the arm inside the lid. The worst thing that usually happens is that side no longer seals well agains water intrusion along the seal between the lid and the shell. So, if you are seeing a gentle arc in the lid...

    Mattracks

I wonder how they do in uneven terrain. What would these things do if you got cross-axled? I can only imagine all kinds of clearance problems. I could see them being really good on sand...if the sand it self doesn't destroy them. So cool... bb

SOLD - 2013 Moto Guzzi Stelvio for sale

I think it is a great bike, but this forum does not have a robust adventure-motorcycle-riding contingent. Probably not enough eyes on your post. AdvRider would get lots of eyes on your bike...but I'm sure you thought of that. Don't know about price. GLWS, bb

I saw this for sale in Fillmore or Santa Paula or some such place. I know you got a good deal on it. Congrats. We may have the hinge parts. SLO flys for flippac

I really think it boils down to budget (as I think those extras cost extra) and preference. Mine has some of those extras. In fact, mine has some custom treatment, like the semi-circular windows that align with the tent windows. I would not change a thing about mine, and I occasionally camp in...
