I decided to make a reinforcement ring for the rear hitch receiver instead of buying one. I needed to practice welding and at least I can use this and get good practice too. I'm still not good enough to leave the grinder on the shelf, but it works.
Today was a good day. I practiced welding the angle iron for the top trim. Turned out pretty well I think.
I also got the tongue fitted and ready to put together. I need to get my spacers cut then it'll be ready to Tork down and tack weld.

I got the whole outside coated in POR15 today. I'll get some pictures up once it's dry. Right now it's so shiny it shows every dent and ding.
On a side note; don't get POR15 on your skin. It doesn't come off. I now have a black nose. LOL there will be no pics of that.

Thanks for the information, but this trailer is being re-tasked to a new mission. I did find the number 37 written on the bed while I was cleaning. It's probably just a measurement note, but interesting anyway.
Looking good so far. We are pretty close to the same stage of our builds. What are you going to do with the tailgate? Are you going to keep it functional, or bolt/weld it closed? Mine was rather well bent up and I think it would be better to bolt/weld it closed and use angle iron to complete the...
I got off early today and went to the Steel Supply House. The Tongue extension piece is now being prepped for installation. Here is the mock up of what I intend to do.
It should all bolt up well and be supported by my welds. What do you think?
