I really felt I did not need the lift in my 87 either but my springs and shocks were shot and the ride was terrible. Last week just had an OME full suspension installed and it rides like a dream. Soaks up all the bumps and dips. I love it.

I agree. I don't think I've turned mine off for more than a few hours in the past 3 years and no issues. When it's not used for camping it makes a good beer fridge in the garage.
