Thanks. Irbis is actually about 10 minutes from my house! I'll check them out. Let me know about the spare turbo. I may be interested in it if you don't want it any more.
Thanks guys. Does anyone in the Denver area know a good shop that has experience working on this motor and truck? I'd like to take it in some where and have it gone through end to end so I know where to start on bring it back to its complete former glory! It runs well but I'd like to have it...
Thanks. Yeah I can't believe how comfortable the front seats are. Especially the drivers seat. It's way more comfortable than my 03 Tacoma seat. The one thing I did find that does not seem to work is using the key to raise the rear window. It goes up and down with the front switch and goes...
Well I did it! I've never bought a used vehicle from a private party let alone a 1987 so I was a bit nervous. The truck ended up being an 87 not an 86 with 167k miles. I feel pretty good about the purchase though. I really know nothing about these trucks but I looked it over the best I...
Thanks for the input. I'm still thinking about the purchase. I got the green light from the wife but she may be waffling on that so I need to talk to her again. I'm leaning towards the turbo. It's got 168,000 miles and I was told the engine was replaced last year with another turbo that had...
1987 4Runner
I am toying around at getting a first gen 4Runner. I've always wanted one but know nothing about them. It will remain stock and be used as a get around town and weekend fun truck. I do know I want a 4 cylinder and I have found 2 local trucks that appear to be in good condition...
I've never used a canvas tarp for a trailer but I do have a heavy duty duck canvas tarp I use to cover my tent cot. It has done a great job keeping things dry, clean and it is very durable.
It's me, my wife and my 11 yoa daughter and we went with the 1800 tent. It's plenty big for us but if you have more than 3 I'd go with the family tent. We ended up using our Ez-Up Awning with a bug screen for your ground level room. It really works out perfect. It gives us a 10x10 area to...
I would just register the trailer so you don't have to worry about anything. CO was the same as far as the DMV considering bolt ons as accessories. I also had AT send me an invoice for just the cost of the Chaser trailer with no options. That's what I showed the DMV when I registered it. It...
No.
No.
Yes. Even here in Colorado there are only a few occassions where we need a heater so efficiency is not very high on my list. Cost and effectiveness are most important to me.
We all have different ideas of what camping is and what it means to get out into nature. The important thing is to get out in what ever manner satisfies you.
That's awesome and a spectacular catch for that part of the country. The biggest one I was able to land out of the north east was only 6 1/2 lbs. Great job and nice to see she was released.
I can't answer any questions about lifts for it, my Tacoma is set up for harder trails. However as a daily driver that is a great truck. My wife too has an 06 Xterra OR with a 6M. Actually taking it in for its 30k service tomorrow. I love that truck. Lots of power, comfortable on long...
For summer time trips I still prefer a solar shower. I just put it up in the roof rack and it gets very hot. Nice and simple and they only cost about $20.
Did yours come with the Marinco 6 amp charger/tender? That's what my Chaser came with. Mine has never made a noise at all. Your best bet is to give Mario a call. I'll go through my paperwork and see if I can find anything about the noise.
